00:05the numbers. The 2025 Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall, which holds an audience of

00:115,960. There are approximately 831 people from various theatrical organizations who currently

00:18vote for the Tony Awards. The group of eligible voters includes voting members of the Broadway

00:23League and the Board of Directors, as well as designated members of the Advisory Committee

00:27of the American Theatre Wing. This year marks the 78th annual Tony Awards. The ceremony hands out

00:32trophies in 26 competitive categories, excluding special honors and awards. Director and producer

00:38Harold Prince holds the record for the most Tony wins by any individual. He received 21 Tonys during

00:44his career. Hamilton holds the record for the musical production with the most Tony nominations with 16

00:50noms. And last year, Stereophonic became the play production with the most Tony nominations when it

00:55received 13 noms. Audra McDonald made history this year when she received her 11th Tony nomination

01:01for her star role as Rose in Gypsy on Broadway, making her the most Tony-nominated performer of

01:07all time. McDonald is also the most awarded performer in Tony history with six wins. Angela Lansbury has

01:13emceed the show more times than anyone else. She's hosted the Tonys five times. Right behind her are

01:19Neil Patrick Harris and Hugh Jackman, who have both emceed the ceremony four times. Some say Bob Fosse has

01:25a triple crown, as he's the only director to win a Tony, an Oscar, and an Emmy in the same year.

01:31He accomplished this feat in 1973. Only two productions have won all of the big six awards

01:36for musicals, South Pacific in 1950 and The Producers in 2001. And it all comes down to one night,

01:42when the Tony Awards air live on Sunday, June 8th on CBS at 8 p.m. Eastern.
