The production firm behind Netflix children's show 'Maya the Bee' has apologized for an episode of the animated series that included a drawing of a penis in the background.
00:00Some concerned parents are in an uproar over a drawing of a penis that appeared on the Netflix animated children's show, Maya the Bee.
00:10The streaming giant pulled the episode of the show with the image in it,
00:13but not before viewers took screenshots of the crew drawing and posted them to social media.
00:17The production firm behind the show, Studio 100, issued an apology, writing,
00:22An absolutely inappropriate image has been discovered in a 4 second flyby scene in one episode of the total of 78 episodes of the series.
00:30The origin of this image obviously results from a very bad joke from one of the 150 artists working on the production.
00:37This is indeed unacceptable to the Studio 100 group as owner of the brand and all its partners and doesn't reflect the quality of its work and its values.
00:45The company statement continues,
00:47Legal action has already been started. Studio 100 very much regrets this incident and would like to offer its sincere apologies to all Maya the Bee fans.
