00:00What does it mean to be here tonight, nominated for Abbott Elementary's first season?
00:04It's overwhelming. It's fantastic.
00:07It's more than what anybody could hope for in a first season, 13-episode show.
00:12We're just trying to take it in a stride, and I'm here to celebrate everybody who made great TV this year.
00:18You know, just being here this early is more than we could ask for.
00:23Season 2 is premiering very soon.
00:25Like a week.
00:26Yeah, like a week and a half.
00:27What can you tease about how we're going to see your character grow and really kind of step into this teacher role this season?
00:33Well, it's Gregory's first full year as a full-time teacher, so we have to watch him prep a year and see if he can meet some deadlines.
00:42And I think we're going to see a lot of him overwhelmed, but he's going to learn what it really takes to be a teacher.
00:48And I think that's what I was most excited for going into the season is, you know, setting up all those conflicts for him to try to get around.
00:54Do Janine and Gregory have a ship name yet?
00:58Do they?
00:59Has anybody been saying it?
01:00I feel like we should make one up because I ship them so hard.
01:04Graneen?
01:05Like Graneen or...
01:08Jaggery?
01:08Jaggery.
01:09I mean, it sounds shippy.
01:11Yeah.
01:12Jaggery.
01:13I don't know, man.
01:15I like both.
01:16Jaggery Graneen.
01:18Full name.
01:19Let's do a full ship name.
01:21Jaggery Graneen.
01:21Could we see them in season two possibly explore, you know, their relationship a little bit?
01:27We could.
01:28I mean, I was just telling somebody else recently.
01:30The only person who knows the will they, won't they of it all is Quinta.
01:33She's not told any of us how this is going to go.
01:37So I'm taking it episode by episode like everybody else.
01:40We could, but so far in what we're shooting, it's still kind of, we're not sure.
01:46When Quinta first came to you and wanted you to be on the show, what did you think of the scripts and the concept?
01:51It was a really easy pitch.
01:52I came right in.
01:54It's actually the most like un-Hollywood way for something to happen.
01:57It was all through DM conversations.
01:59She DM'd me.
01:59I was like, okay.
02:00She sent me the script and I was like, great, let's do this.
02:03And that's really how the job came together.
02:05I've been a fan of Quinta for so long and we've been friends for a while.
02:08And I was looking for an opportunity to work with her again.
02:10And this became the perfect one.
02:13When this is all over tonight, what are you going to do?
02:15Hit up the parties, take your shoes off and go home?
02:17What's the plan?
02:19I'm a one lap party guy.
02:21I'm going to do a singular lap around each of the parties and then go home.
02:27What if it's a big night with a big wind?
02:29Do you stay out all night celebrating?
02:31I then do a serpentine lap in which I cover the area of the room.
02:36And then I, it's still one though.
02:38It's still one.
02:39I'll never be in the same place twice.
02:40And then I go home.
