00:00Here are your top stories. First, a big-name celebrity is set to play Joe Biden on Saturday
00:05Night Live. Jim Carrey will play the Democratic nominee in season 46 of the show, which debuts
00:10on October 3rd. For the season premiere, the SNL cast will return to the show's iconic Rockefeller
00:15Center studio for the first time since March. The long-running NBC sketch show is bringing back its
00:20full ensemble for the new season. Next, Kanye West caused quite a stir on Twitter while calling out
00:24the music industry, even sharing a video of a Grammy being urinated on. Jordan Rowling from
00:30our sister publication Billboard has more. After referring to the music industry as modern-day
00:35slavery on Monday, September 14th, and tweeting he won't be putting any more music out until he's
00:40officially done with Sony and Universal, Kanye West returned to Twitter on Tuesday and Wednesday to get
00:45every lawyer in the world to take a look at his contracts. Before uploading what appear to be
00:50screen grabs of amendments, a profit-sharing agreement, and a recording agreement, Ye shared
00:55dozens of tweets, including one that reads, complicated contracts are how businesses,
01:00music companies, and sports take advantage of talent. We will expose these contracts and make
01:04them transparent now. And in several others, the rapper addresses the issue of artists not owning
01:09their masters, stating, I am the only person who can speak on this because I made multi-billions
01:14outside of music. No musicians make billions inside of music. I'm going to change this.
01:20And Fox News has been hit with layoffs. Here's more from THR's Neha Joy.
01:24A Fox News spokesperson told a Hollywood reporter in a statement,
01:27As Fox News media has evolved into a streamlined, multi-platform organization, we are realigning
01:32several functions and restructuring various divisions in order to position all of our
01:36businesses for ongoing success. No on-air talent are expected to be impacted by the changes,
01:42and less than 3% of staff will lose their jobs in the reorg. Fox News' parent company Fox Corp
01:47employs about 9,000 people and has been reorganizing its businesses by division. In July, Fox Sports
01:53laid off between 50 to 100 people in a similar move to streamline operations. For more on all
01:59these stories, head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Tiffany Taylor.
