05:32It's actually very simple when you get down to it.
05:34None of your actions have any monetary value, unless someone's paying.
05:38Luckily, there's a dynamic mission system, which ties into a sophisticated sandbox simulation that results in complete chaos.
05:45Take a request to clear out mutants.
05:47Complete it automatically, because the AI did it for you.
05:50Take a delivery.
05:51Fail, because your client took a shotgun to the face.
05:54Click every job on the task board without looking.
05:56And get very surprised, as you hear the approaching rotors of the Ukrainian military.
06:01Situations arise, and coincidence stacks together to create interactions that are more ridiculous and bizarre than any scripted event.
06:08Monolith.
06:12This is not an exaggeration.
06:14Anything can happen, and nothing is static.
06:17Anomalies move, radiation patches migrate, and factions go to war with one another all in the course of a day.
06:23Act like a scumbag, and you'll end up in a body bag.
06:26As even your own faction would sooner kill a traitor than an enemy.
06:29Build a trustworthy reputation, and traitors will offer better supplies and ammunition.
06:34And for the rest, you're on your own.
06:36Perform enough work, and your clients will ping the location of a rare stash.
06:40These contain a random set of tools.
06:42When everything is garbage, your only option is to fix it.
06:45Guns are a series of parts that can be field stripped, cleaned, and swapped out.
06:48Unless they're completely trashed, in which case you need a full replacement.
06:51Lack of maintenance results in mechanical failure.
06:54While dirty, warped, or broken barrels turn bullets into glorified confetti.
06:58Equipment works a little differently.
07:00The condition in stats is the average durability of each component.
07:04Past a certain threshold, you can't repair directly.
07:06And the only way to restore them is by replacing the individual parts.
07:09But, everything I've described requires the appropriate repair kit for that category or complexity of gear.
07:15Which can only be made with the appropriate set of tools.
07:18This is how Gamma incentivizes the player to go north.
07:21To progress, we have to push deeper towards the heart of the zone.
07:24Which is why I didn't get expert tools until 100 hours in.
07:27Because I spent all my time building an incel bunker in the middle of raw stock.
07:31Virtually, every challenge I've ever faced is an opportunity to engineer a solution.
07:35For example, I have a natural propensity for hoarding.
07:38Which is why I craft and equip the highest possible carry capacity and still get overloaded.
07:43But, with the help of my trusty chemistry set, I can take a bump of cocaine off my knife.

08:18And as one of them passes by, I deconstruct it and stab him in the face.
08:22In Gamma, you die quickly.
08:24And you die a lot.
08:34A single dog bite is a third of your health bar.
08:37If you don't have a bandage or anticoagulants, it'll quickly drop to zero.

10:00Artifacts in Stalker are a bunch of passive stats.
10:03Artifacts in Gamma let you kick pseudogiants to death and turn the game into dark messiah.
10:08Reverse the vector of approaching projectiles.
10:11Solo the entire late game with a fire axe.
10:14Reward your accuracy by accelerating each bullet faster than the last.
10:17Until you accidentally miss.
10:19In which case, your head explodes.
10:21Or sign a pact with a zone.
10:23Which is completely irreversible.
10:24Forcing you to feed it until there's nothing left to give.
10:27Except yourself.
10:28But I wouldn't worry about that.
10:30Because it's time for another sacrifice.

11:47Relaxing your stance to show non-aggression.

11:55This is tactical gun autism.
11:57Because there's more than a hundred fully accurate reproductions from WW2 to the modern era.
12:02To which you can attach real-world scopes, suppressors and underbarrel launchers.
12:06And it doesn't stop there.
12:08Because I didn't include tactical conversions that fundamentally modify the entire frame.
12:12This is the whole point of Gamma.
12:14Paying 200,000 rubles for a smuggled Raytheon thermal scope.
12:18So I can 10x zoom on a toilet in pitch darkness and appreciate the individual skid marks left behind.
12:24At night, the humble duende comes out to forage.
