After ousting its longtime studio chief, the company has hired outside counsel to investigate "Ron's behavior," an insider says.

00:00NBCUniversal has hired outside counsel to investigate former vice chairman Ron Meyer's
00:05behavior following an affair with actress Charlotte Kirk in 2013 and the $2 million
00:09settlement he reached with her last year, leading to his recent ouster from the company.
00:14And now the Kirk affair is expanding to even more moguls. According to an insider,
00:18the investigation is an effort to determine if any company money or resources were used
00:22in conjunction with the affair or its cover-up. The goal is to determine if the media giant was
00:27unwittingly a party to any impropriety. An NBCUniversal spokesperson confirmed that an
00:32investigation is underway. All this comes at a time when the Kirk scandal keeps expanding with
00:37more powerful Hollywood men named as having been involved with the now 27-year-old actress,
00:42who is said to have Asperger's syndrome and was possibly promised roles and auditions in
00:46exchange for sex. According to one lawyer who is knowledgeable about matters involving Kirk,
00:50this is the tip of the iceberg. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Steve Tish,
00:54a heavyweight producer behind Forrest Gump and The Equalizer and chairman, co-owner and executive
00:59VP of the New York Giants, had a relationship with Kirk in 2012, predating the beginning of
01:05Meyer's affair by a few months. Unlike Meyer and former Warner Bros. chief Kevin Tsujihara,
01:10Tish was not married at the time. He was involved with a then-19-year-old Kirk,
01:14who had just moved from her native England to New York. Tish marks the latest name in the
01:18expanding network of film and TV brokers with whom Kirk has had relationships.
01:21The source characterized Tish's affair with Kirk as encompassing only two or three dates.
01:26A rep for Tish declined to comment. For much more on this story, head to THR.com.
