00:00And for more details on Honduras Election Day, we are going live with our Special Envoy Jorge Gestoso.

00:06Gestoso, welcome to From the South. Can you tell us?

00:13Thank you. At this very moment in Honduras, after an historic Election Day,

00:21the vote counting is underway all over the country.

00:26We are talking about 19,000 and a little bit more polling places that are at this very moment counting their votes.

00:36It's expected to take some time.

00:39Some people believe that could be optimistic.

00:43People could be before the end of the night.

00:46And other ones believe that it's going to take longer to complete the process.

00:52On the other hand, already after the electoral silence has been finished,

00:59there are some exit polls that are starting to appear.

01:04And Telesur has been very, very respectful of the process and doesn't want to take a special,

01:16if you want, what could be a trend that cannot be confirmed.

01:22Therefore, we are following very closely the process, but we do not want to jump into any type of speculation

01:34until the whole vote counting is going to end.

01:39So far, the process has been, for many, many international observers, an example.

01:48We were talking to some of them.

01:49They were confirming that the whole day has been very quiet and very organized.

01:56And definitely, it has been much more organized than an election that has been taking place on the March,

02:03on the month of March, what was like, what was called the partial elections.

02:09So far, there is, in the streets of the country, a total normality, quietness.

02:17There is no, any type of disruption at any point.

02:22And, supposedly, coming sometime soon, probably in the next hour, for the first time,

02:29the electoral council is going to announce what they decide that are going to be the preliminary results.

02:39And the presidential party, the one of the candidates, Rizzi Moncada, said that she is not going to accept

02:51whatever is going to be the results of that preliminary voting that is going to be officially announced

02:59until every single vote is being counted.

03:03So far, that's the situation at this very moment.
