Elizabeth Debicki, who played Princess Diana in the past two seasons of 'The Crown,' tells THR on the 2023 Emmys red carpet that she doesn't take fan reaction and love for her character "for granted."

00:00It's been a whirlwind past couple weekends for you.

00:02Are you riding the high of these big wins into tonight's Emmys?

00:06I'm riding the high into the ether.

00:10It's been absolutely wild, and it's been pretty glorious and fun.

00:14How have you been feeling since The Crown ended?

00:18Well, there was a part of me that felt that it was time to let go of it.

00:24And now that I've sort of recovered from it in an emotional, kind of physical way,

00:30there's now a part of my brain that wants to do it again.

00:33It's sad for me to know that I don't get to play that part anymore,

00:36because I just love playing it so much.

00:38But it's been a lovely week to have the show recognized in that way

00:43and the work recognized.

00:44What is it like reuniting with the cast at shows like this?

00:48Lovely.

00:49We don't get to see each other enough, you know,

00:51because everybody just sort of goes off and you're so close,

00:54and then everybody goes off into their lives

00:56and has to pick up their kids from school and everything.

00:58So it's nice to have condensed time back together.

01:01Princess Diana, of course, was so beloved when she was alive.

01:05For you, your character is also so loved on the show.

01:08What has that fan love been like for you?

01:11Really overwhelmingly lovely

01:13and something that you hope might happen,

01:16but you don't want to sort of put too many, you know, expectations on that.

01:20So I feel it very deeply, and I don't take it for granted.

01:25Do you think there's ever a world where we could get more of The Crown?

01:29I don't know.

01:30I'm not sure.

01:31I'm not sure which iteration that would be.

01:34I would say yes, but it's not up to me.

01:37If we had to imagine, is there any spinoff that you would pitch?

01:41Any characters you'd like to see more of?

01:43No, in a way, it feels so complete to me this season.

01:49I think they did such a beautiful job wrapping it up the way they did.

01:52It was so elegant, and Imelda was incredible.

01:55So, no, I don't think so.

01:58A good place to end.
