00:00The most important items used in the coronation are the monarch's two crowns.
00:09If the Queen has only worn St. Edward's gold crown once, she is much more familiar with this,
00:17the diamond-encrusted imperial state crown.
00:21She wore it at the end of her coronation and for most state openings of Parliament since.
00:28You see, it's much smaller, isn't it?
00:32Significantly.
00:33I mean, it was the same height.
00:36You know, it would have been up to about there when my father wore it.
00:43I mean, it was huge then.
00:45Yes, very unwieldy.
00:49It's difficult to always remember that diamonds are stones, so they're very heavy.
00:57Yes.
00:59Fortunately, my father and I have about the same sort of shaped head.
01:03But once you put it on, it stays.
01:05I mean, it just remains itself.
01:07You have to keep your head very still.
01:09Yes.
01:10And you can't look down to read the speech.
01:12You have to take the speech up.
01:14Because if you did, your neck would break.
01:16It would fall off.
01:18So there are some disadvantages to crowns, but otherwise they're quite important things.
01:27Okay.
01:28Thanks.
01:29Thanks.
