Katherine McNamara says to "expect the unexpected" when it comes to the last twelve episodes of 'Shadowhunters,' and how the show prepped her for her upcoming role on 'Arrow' at the 2018 People's Choice Awards.

00:00Shadowhunters your show is nominated for several awards here tonight the fans

00:04have been going crazy voting what does their support mean to you it means the

00:07world honestly it's the most humbling and surprising thing being a Raiden not

00:11really even expecting to be here today and it's that it's been the most

00:16wonderful thing these fans are so passionate they care so much about the

00:19story that we put our heart and souls into creating and bringing to life on

00:22screen so it's all we can do is be here for them and to represent them and the

00:27love that they put out into the world what would it mean to win a people's

00:30choice award it would be one of the most humbling experiences of my career thus

00:35far honestly the group of women that are nominated are some of my personal heroes

00:39so it's just nice to be included in the group the premiere date for the final

00:43season of Shadowhunters the final episodes it was just revealed it's going

00:46to be in February so what can you tease about those episodes you have to expect

00:49the unexpected because our midseason finale there's this huge explosion nothing

00:54will ever be the same in this world everyone is forever changed specifically

00:57Clary my character and it's it's one of these experiences where you can't

01:04everything you think you know everything you think you're sure of about the show

01:07about this world gets turned on its head and it makes for a very exciting 12

01:11episodes I'll tell you that much that's amazing now you're also you have a role

01:15coming up on Arrow what can you tease about that not much I have many secrets

01:19about Arrow but the thing that I can say is that Maya is a product of her

01:24environment she grew up in a very rough area and she is one to punch first and

01:29ask questions later she's actually a boxer in an underground fight club so it's

01:33been continuing everything I learned on Shadowhunters and bringing that into a

01:36new job it's been so wonderful everyone's been so welcoming and I cannot

01:40wait for people to see who Maya is yes I was going to ask how is playing a kick-ass

01:44character like Clary then prepared you to play the Street Fighter well aside from the

01:48physical aspect of it it's you know as when I was a little girl I always looked for

01:52these kind of characters in the media and now we have such a surgence of these

01:56badass kick-ass females who solve their own problems who fight their own battles

02:01and who still fall on their face and make mistakes so playing characters like this

02:06it's it's kind of full circle for me and it's a dream come true thank you so
