Transcript
00:00The Emmys are honoring 75 years of TV history tonight.
00:03I heard that. So exciting.
00:06For you, when you were growing up, what's a show that you loved that made you want to make television?
00:10Oh, there were so many. And really so many Norman Lear shows when I think about it.
00:15All of his sitcoms and the way they made you laugh and also think at the same time
00:21and feel like hope and change were a part of the conversation while you were laughing.
00:26Those shows were the ones that stuck with me.
00:31Like the fact that I could be laughing and also feel like, oh, is this okay?
00:36At the same time were really titillating and also felt very anarchic and radical.
00:48You're nominated tonight. What does it mean to receive this nomination for Tiny Beautiful Things?
00:52Oh, I can't tell you how moved I am by it.
00:55This was a profound one for me and for, I think, everybody involved.
01:03And I love Cheryl Strayed's work and I love Liz Tiglar's writing.
01:07And there were so many women involved in the show,
01:10from all the directors to most of our writing staff to all of the producers.
01:16So I feel very, very humbled to be representing this group with this nomination.
01:24Of course, you have your Agatha series coming up.
01:27Where are you at in that filming process right now?
01:29We just have a few more days to kind of pick up.
01:33Yeah, but we got most of it done.
01:35Yeah, very exciting.
01:37How excited are you for Marvel fans to see that series?
01:39Oh, Marvel fans and, like, just anyone that loves a witch.
01:47It's very, it's, yeah, I am, I can't wait for people to see it.
01:52What do you?
01:53I can't wait to see it.
01:54What do you love about playing a witch?
01:56Oh, who wouldn't want to play a witch?
01:59I mean, that was, like, all I played, all I played as a kid.
02:03That was every Halloween, was a witch of the tooth fairy.
02:06And now, it's the best.
02:10Amazing.
02:10And last weekend at the Golden Globes,
02:12assistants were thanked in a very well-received Golden Globe speech by Io from the Bear.
02:17What's an undersung group in Hollywood that you would like to thank, if given the chance?
02:21Oh, my gosh.
02:22I would definitely say assistants.
02:23That was so rad that she said that.
02:26I loved it so much.
02:27Assistants, assistants and PAs.
02:31I would just, I, they're unsung heroes, for sure.
02:352023 was a tough year for Hollywood.
02:37But for you, what's the reason you still love Hollywood and still love this industry?
02:41I love my job.
02:42I love being able to, to, to make magic with people on a soundstage or on location.
02:50I love that, that, that sacred time between action and cut.
02:54And I can't believe that we still have the ability to do that.
02:58I love, like we said at the beginning, I love storytelling.
03:02And, yeah, it still feels, still feels vital and really necessary.
03:08And finally, if you win an Emmy here tonight, do you know where you'll put it?
03:10Oh, God, I'm not thinking that far, I'm not even like, that hasn't even entered the, like, question at all.
03:18No.
