00:00Jimmy Kimmel is weighing in on canceling personalities like Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan,
00:05and Donald Trump. The Jimmy Kimmel Live host spoke to New York Times reporter Kara Swisher
00:10for the latest episode of her Sway podcast and first discussed the Fox News personality.
00:15Now, I don't think we should cancel Tucker Carlson. I think that Tucker Carlson is on
00:20commercial television, and if you don't like Tucker Carlson, you should not buy the products
00:24that are advertised on his show. I don't think it's a good idea to shut people up because I
00:28want to know where people are coming from. I want to know what they think. He also added he
00:32doesn't believe everything Carlson says. I think he's a phony in every respect. I think he's an
00:37algorithm. I think his audience created him. I think he started out as a fairly down-the-middle
00:42political broadcaster in a cute little bow tie with polka dots on it. Kimmel had similar sentiments
00:47about Rogan and his anti-vax statements. I don't necessarily think that anybody should be shut up.
00:52I wish people would pay attention to the facts, and I wish people were just consistent. I know
00:57people who trust what he says, and I personally know people who have put themselves in danger
01:01because he minimized the importance of vaccines. But I also know that it's not as black and white
01:06as sometimes the media makes it out to be. And finally, on the subject of former President Trump,
01:10the host said he would actually like to have his frequent comedy target on his ABC late-night
01:15show as a guest. There would be a hue of outrage from my friends on the left and also outrage from
01:20those on the right who saw me interview him. But there are a lot of things I would like to say
01:24to him and ask him. For more on this story, head to THR.com. And for the latest entertainment
