03:54this evening
03:55it's also all about
03:57whether with the 25 lap cap
04:00on how long they're allowed to use the tyres
04:01will affect so we're expecting lap 7 for example
04:05nobody's going to want to pit before lap 7
04:06it's a 57 lap race
04:08that will enable them to get then to lap 32
04:12you don't want to pit before lap 32 either
04:14but top 10 on the grid
04:16all on brand new medium compound tyres
04:19in fact everybody on the grid
04:20is on brand new tyres
04:22excepting we've got all three compounds represented
04:26because Hülkenberg in 11th on softs
04:28and then you get to Albon in 14th on the hard compound tyre
04:32so a lot of different ideas
04:34on how to approach this compromise strategy really
04:38given and we're also concerned
04:40if there's a lot of gravel gets thrown up on the track
04:42that the track that they might just throw a safety car
04:46tyres could very much dictate the story for tonight
04:49so on the pit wall for us
04:51and I hope you're not too tired

04:57but yes, the medium start tyre for the majority
05:00as Martin outlined there
05:01that is what we were largely expecting
05:03we think that those people can go
05:05all the way to 25 in the race if they want to
05:08so good flexibility with that strategy
05:09as the cars leave the grid in front of me Crofty
05:12the soft tyre starters
05:14maybe have a little bit less in those tyres
05:16so Hülkenberg and Hamilton
05:17maybe need to stop a little bit earlier
05:19but we're not sure
05:21the hard tyre was last run in P1 by all teams
05:24but Albon and Colapinto on that
05:27they'll be thinking they can go all the way to 25 as well
05:30so a lot of flexibility out there
05:31I think the people on the medium
05:33will feel the most comfortable
05:34they've done the sprint on that tyre
05:36and they should have good knowledge on it
05:38and the tyre they're most concerned about
05:40on this racetrack
05:41this clockwise race circuit
05:42is the left front tyre
05:44that's the one that's under the most duress out there
05:48and the one that will start to fail first
05:50starts to wearing out is the issue here
05:52rather than graining as such
05:54where we see the surface ripping
05:55or if you get them too hot
05:57they might even just blister
05:59and the reason the tyres are under so much stress
06:02at this track
06:02only one of the 16 corners
06:04under 100 kilometres an hour
06:07and where you are twisting
06:09and you are turning in the cockpit
06:10throughout most of this lap
06:12apart from the one kilometre long main straight
06:14yeah two thirds of the lap
06:15is absolutely full throttle
06:17and particularly the end of it
06:18is relentless
06:19one fast corner after the other
06:21and that is what puts a lot of load
06:24into the tyres
06:25so there's your driver's championship there
