00:00:40And I mean, this is like a classic cliffhanger PLE.
00:00:47I swear going in and we had had these conversations so much specifically about the men's War Games match,
00:00:54realizing that there are so many different possibilities
00:00:57and so much different tension that exists, not just between the two teams,
00:01:01but amongst both teams, really.
00:01:05A lot of tension within CM Punk, Cody Rhodes' team.
00:01:09And a lot of tension within Paul Heyman's team as well.
00:01:11Who knows where Drew stands?
00:01:13Brock Lesnar, as they said on commentary tonight,
00:01:15he hasn't teamed with anybody since like 2004.
00:01:18Nuts.
00:01:19I think that they said like there's so, I mean, infinite possibilities here.
00:01:24And instead of leaving tonight going, well, we know what happened there.
00:01:28There is far more discussion to be had.
00:01:33First of all.
00:01:34First of all, Bron Breaker pinned CM Punk.
00:01:38Bron Breaker pinned the world heavyweight champion.
00:01:42It's 100% right.
00:01:43That is a headline of all headlines and one that shouldn't be lost under the sauce of everything else that went on in that match.
00:01:50You're right.
00:01:50Bron Breaker, at the end of the day, pinned CM Punk while CM Punk was world heavyweight champion.
00:01:59Bron Breaker, the future, which implies that maybe someday he'll be pinning world heavyweight champions tonight in the war games.
00:02:07Got the decision.
00:02:08Not Brock.
00:02:09Not Logan Paul.
00:02:11Not Drew McIntyre.
00:02:12Bron Breaker pinned CM Punk, the world heavyweight champion, after a spear.
00:02:18CM Punk got speared and could not answer the referee's three count.
00:02:23That is massive in the world of Bron Breaker.
00:02:29It's layered as well, right?
00:02:31Because we know that Paul Heyman and CM Punk, their relationship crumbled after WrestleMania when Paul Heyman sided with Seth Rollins and created the vision.
00:02:41And who was part of the vision, who was the centerpiece, who's going to be the future of WrestleMania's to come.
00:02:48Day one.
00:02:48Bron Breaker.
00:02:49That's right.
00:02:49That's 100% right.
00:02:51And you can see why.
00:02:52Not that anybody ever questioned why, but it was made clear why tonight.
00:02:56And it's impossible right now to say how much of War Games is meant to be taken as part of Paul Heyman's plan and how much of it was serendipitous to Paul Heyman.
00:03:08But regardless, Paul Heyman's team, pretty much as always, ends up the winning team at War Games.
00:03:17I mean, there was something, because this was the most star-studded War Games match of the modern era, maybe of all time.
00:03:26And we were sitting here watching it together, like trying to predict who was going to come out next.
00:03:31I think we all, I mean, both of us were pretty shocked when the first theme music that played was Cult of Personality.
00:03:38Yeah, I thought Punk, I thought it was either going to be Punk or Cody who entered the match last.
00:03:43Last, because the two champions, right?
00:03:45But CM Punk starts the match with, by the way, Bron Breaker.
00:03:49The two people that would end this thing were also the two people that started the match.
00:03:54Of course, Heyman's team had won the War Games advantage on Raw, so they kept that lead throughout the match, which they were able to take advantage of a lot.
00:04:04You had Drew entering the match after the first two, which, I mean, brought back all these memories of Drew McIntyre and CM Punk trapped inside of a steel cage from just about a year ago.
00:04:17Yeah, and we talked about that rivalry.
00:04:20They had 10 months of vitriol, hatred.
00:04:23I mean, it had reached a boiling point and then boiled over, right?
00:04:28Yeah.
00:04:28And, I mean, these guys will never be friends.
00:04:31Friends.
00:04:32CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.
00:04:33They'll never be able to coexist in the same room.
00:04:36And we saw that as soon as Drew McIntyre entered.
00:04:38There's something that feels at home about the two of them just beating each other up.
00:04:42And I think that that's the way it's going to be forever.
00:04:46Logan Paul comes in.
00:04:47He gets some steel chairs.
00:04:48Jimmy Uso comes in.
00:04:50He gets some tables.
00:04:51By the way, something that I didn't love.
00:04:54When they were chanting, we want tables?
00:04:55No, of course I hated that.
00:04:57But, no, I have another pet peeve.
00:04:59And I don't know if I've told you about this.
00:05:00I felt that the women in the War Games match did a much better job at not doing this than the men did.
00:05:06If you noticed in the Women's War Games match, which we'll talk about, we'll have Charlotte Flair on the show,
00:05:12every member of both teams came to the ring already with a weapon in hand.
00:05:18If they wanted a weapon, they had it in hand.
00:05:21When you're in that War Games, you only have three minutes as the fresh man to either help your team even the odds or take advantage of those odds
00:05:30before that buzzer goes off again and the opposite team gets somebody to come in there.
00:05:34The fact that people take any time whatsoever to go under the ring, to find steel chairs in Logan Paul's case,
00:05:41to find tables in Jimmy Uso's case, it's like, no, get in there.
00:05:45Get in the double cage.
00:05:46You have to take advantage of every minute.
00:05:48This is a timed event.
00:05:50It's like, right?
00:05:51I mean, can you imagine working on your mile and going like, yeah, but I want to make sure I take as many water breaks as possible?
00:05:56And you're not going to get faster.
00:05:57No, you're not going to get faster.
00:05:59Exactly.
00:06:00You're not going to capitalize on that advantage.
00:06:02Now, look.
00:06:02You know what?
00:06:02I think the women are just smarter.
00:06:04In as far as timing goes?
00:06:06I think just in general.

00:06:10I'm talking about maybe War Games intelligence.

00:06:15Proven by War Games tonight.

00:06:18If there was ever an intelligence test, War Games would be it.
00:06:21It's like chess surrounded by steel.

00:06:42Now, were you surprised at the fact that at the beginning of the match, Cody and Punk
00:06:47did not seem to be getting along?
00:06:50No.
00:06:50And Cody busted Punk open.
00:06:53Pretty quick.
00:06:54With the elbow.
00:06:55But then-
00:06:56And there were two people in front of Cody, and he elbowed backwards to Punk.
00:06:59But then when they kind of shook it off, they were completely on the same page.
00:07:03It was like, they're good.
00:07:04And then they actually helped each other out, where Punk hit the go to sleep, and then Cody
00:07:08hit the crossroads on Brock Lesnar, and it was like, oh my gosh, Cody and Punk working
00:07:12together.
00:07:13Even before that, though.
00:07:14I mean, before that, before the ring was even full of people, you saw like the minute they
00:07:19kind of shook off whatever rivalry was going on, they did a heart attack.
00:07:23They did a doomsday device that looked like it beheaded Braun Breaker.
00:07:26Like, these are classic tag team moves.
00:07:30And it might just be that Cody and Punk are so in love with the game, are so married into
00:07:37professional wrestling, that once that on switch goes on, they know they have that same
00:07:42level of wrestling IQ where they know.
00:07:45You know what I mean?
00:07:45Like, they don't have to say anything.
00:07:48If Cody has somebody up on his shoulders, Punk knows it's time to hit the doomsday device.
00:07:53They're communicating via wrestling.
00:07:54Right.
00:07:55Exactly right.
00:07:56Exactly right.
00:07:56And I think that there's something to that.
00:07:59I mean, listen, Jey Uso, and I feel like he's picked up this level of confidence that we
00:08:06were hoping he would get, figuring out how to run it back.
00:08:11Mid-war games.
00:08:13Do you think I'm a hypocrite?
00:08:14Because I do think it's inappropriate to grab weapons while the clock is running.
00:08:21But running it back, you're totally fine.
00:08:23Yes, you are a hypocrite.
00:08:24A hundred percent.
00:08:25I feel like everybody was laid out.
00:08:27And also, here's the thing.
00:08:30People don't realize this about Jey Uso.
00:08:32He operates on vibes.
00:08:35The vibes have to be right.
00:08:36You know what I mean?
00:08:37So, like, Jey, like, him looking into the camera or looking out into the audience and, like,
00:08:44making that face like, oh, we're going to do this.
00:08:46I'm in control now.
00:08:47I'm taking charge.
00:08:49Uh, uh, uh.
00:08:51And everybody's going crazy for it.
00:08:52And 45,000 people in San Diego are all just yeeting along as Jey Uso runs it back.
00:08:59There was something about it that I thought was great.
00:09:01I do love the moment when Jey realizes and the audience realizes that he realizes that,
00:09:08oh, boy, we could run this whole thing back.
00:09:10And everybody's on the same page.
00:09:11It's, it's the glance.
00:09:13It's the shake of the head.
00:09:15All right, let's do this.
00:09:16Should we do this?
00:09:16Oh, my gosh.
00:09:17Should we do this?
00:09:17Let's do it.
00:09:18Let's do it.
00:09:19And they were ready for it.
00:09:20Of course, who's the one person that can ruin it?
00:09:23Brock Lesnar.
00:09:24That's the, it's so, and music is such a funny thing.
00:09:27When Jey Uso runs it back, we all hear it.
00:09:30We all know exactly what to do.
00:09:31When Brock's music comes on, boom, boom, boom, boom.
00:09:36You just know, it's just dread.
00:09:38It's just all hope is lost.
00:09:40You realize it's bad news.
00:09:42Yeah, I don't know why I was, um, I, I, I, I was curious the entire time.
00:09:47Oh, how is, is Brock going to enter?
00:09:49You know, it was, it was different this time with war games because there were no cages.
00:09:53No shark cages.
00:09:54No shark cages.
00:09:54And, and that's typically what, what we see in these war games matches.
00:09:58I miss the shark cages.
00:09:59So I, I didn't think, you know, when I was, when I was thinking about war games all weekend,
00:10:03I, I didn't envision Brock entering with Paul Heyman because I didn't envision Paul Heyman
00:10:08being in the shark cage.
00:10:11Yeah.
00:10:11Although, okay.
00:10:13If there had been shark cages, I do have a vision of Paul Heyman standing right next
00:10:18to the shark cage.
00:10:18Oh, you do.
00:10:19That's my vision of it.
00:10:20Isn't that interesting?
00:10:21It is.
00:10:21Well, I, and I hadn't pictured it yet, but yeah, I would picture Paul Heyman standing
00:10:26next to the shark cage.
00:10:28And maybe if Brock comes out last, then he does walk with.
00:10:30Cause I, I'd figured Brock was going to come out last for his team.
00:10:33I mean, he's Brock.
00:10:34And then I thought, oh, they're going to be the shark cage.
00:10:36There's going to be no Heyman.
00:10:37How is Heyman going to get involved in this match?
00:10:39And then when there was no shark cages, it's like, oh, Heyman's just going to enter with
00:10:42Brock.
00:10:43And they're going to put the end of all of the fun.
00:10:45And I've got to tell you, Heyman walking out with Brock Lesnar after everything that
00:10:49we've seen with Paul Heyman, right?
00:10:51After, after everything that we saw years and years ago with CM Punk, after everything
00:10:56that we saw with the bloodline, Heyman, not walking out with the vision, but just walking
00:11:02out with Brock Lesnar and kind of resetting priorities as much as I loved.
00:11:08I mean, I lived for the bloodline.
00:11:10I know.
00:11:10That's how your family ate.
00:11:12That's how my family ate.
00:11:13That's how they still eat.
00:11:14Well, because of the tribal chief, because of the tribal chief.
00:11:17And also, you know, the royalties of the bloodline, the bloodline still is making money.
00:11:21So that's how they all eat.
00:11:24But there is something about Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar coming out together where you
00:11:32go, this was inevitable.
00:11:34This was always meant to be the idea of Paul Heyman being with anybody else.
00:11:38The idea of Brock Lesnar not being with Paul Heyman.
00:11:41It was like this strange era that we convinced ourselves was real, but this was always what
00:11:48it was meant to be.
00:11:49It's like, you know, if, if, if, if your ex like breaks up with you and like is with this,
00:11:57the new person that you knew they should always be with anyway.
00:12:00And as much as you don't like it, you're like, I hate how much it just makes sense.
00:12:04Like, that's the way it was always supposed to be.
00:12:06And that's a bummer.
00:12:07And I'm sure that's Roman is sitting there going like, well, it was four years of my life.
00:12:12And I was just in the way.
00:12:13And it was always just supposed to be this.
00:12:15But didn't it feel that way when Heyman walked out with Lesnar?
00:12:19It did.
00:12:19It felt right.
00:12:20It looked right.
00:12:21And then Brock did what Brock does.
00:12:25I mean, Brock was amazing.
00:12:27Brock was amazing going in and killing everybody.
00:12:29I mean, there was a minute when I think Michael Cole said on commentary, this could be the
00:12:33shortest war games we've ever seen.
00:12:35And I said, oh yeah.
00:12:37Did you think for a second it might be?
00:12:38Yes.
00:12:39That's the power of Brock Lesnar.
00:12:41Nobody else has that ability to make you believe.
00:12:43I said, would it end right now?
00:12:45With no one else, I wouldn't believe it.
00:12:47But with Brock, we would have all just left Survivor Series with our jaws on the floor,
00:12:51which we did anyway.
00:12:52Right.
00:12:52But our jaws would have been on the floor in a different way and earlier.
00:12:55And a hole in our bellies.
00:12:57Yeah.
00:12:57Just unfulfilled.
00:12:58Being like, he did it to us again.
00:12:59I didn't like that.
00:13:00Brock did it to us again.
00:13:02And he wouldn't have cared.
00:13:03But so Brock comes in after the Jey Uso run it back party and just kills everyone.
00:13:08Which is, what do you expect?
00:13:10Just everybody eating suplexes.
00:13:11And then Roman's music hits.
00:13:17And I mean, it might have, it's one of my, I don't even know what to compare it to.
00:13:21I just love the visual of this aisleway that runs through the baseball stadium there in San Diego.
00:13:28So there's a corner on it.
00:13:29You know, like we sometimes see in Royal Rumbles and stuff like that.
00:13:32And Roman coming around the corner and realizing that there is another lion standing in front of him, stopping him from getting to that war games cage.
00:13:44And you realize that there's no turning back for Roman or Brock Lesnar.
00:13:49They are just here.
00:13:50We're king of the jungle, king of the jungle, staring each other down, making that like almost canine-like aggressive eye contact.
00:13:59We were foaming at the mouth in the studio.
00:14:01A hundred percent.
00:14:02Saying, spear him.
00:14:03Go.
00:14:03Spear him.
00:14:04And we didn't even know which one we meant.
00:14:06No.
00:14:06We were just saying, spear him.
00:14:08We wanted to know who the, we wanted to know who the king of the jungle was.
00:14:10We just wanted a collision to happen.
00:14:12And it happened.
00:14:13Roman steps up.
00:14:15Superman punch.
00:14:16Brock goes back.
00:14:17Superman punch again.
00:14:18Brock goes back.
00:14:19Superman punch again.
00:14:20Roman.
00:14:21And I said, are they going to do a thing where Brock never even makes it to the cage?
00:14:25Would that technically be a retreat?
00:14:26Would Paul Heyman's team, and as I'm thinking about all this, he goes for that fourth Superman punch and Brock just catches him and F5s him through the table.
00:14:34And you realize that the moment that we saw on Monday Night Raw is not going to be the defining thing about this.
00:14:39This version of Brock Lesnar.
00:14:43No, Brock Lesnar brought Roman Reigns into the ring.
00:14:46And he smashed him into the cage all the way there.
00:14:52I mean, then we see the one thing that starts to slow Brock Lesnar down.
00:14:58We see the GTS into the crossroads.
00:15:00We see.
00:15:01Logan Paul breaks it up.
00:15:03Yep.
00:15:04Logan Paul breaking up the pin attempt.
00:15:06Oh, don't forget Paul Heyman giving Logan Paul the brass knucks, which was a mistake because they slipped right out of Logan Paul's hand.
00:15:15And we got to see super Superman punches.
00:15:18Both Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul take the brass knuckle Superman punch.
00:15:22And then just as you think Braun Breaker is going to hit Roman with a spear, Roman, boom, levels him with one of his own.
00:15:29And I think my favorite spear of the night might have been Brock has Jay up for an F5 and Roman spears him through a table.
00:15:38That was the best.
00:15:38The table was sitting there.
00:15:39I was like, is someone going through that?
00:15:41I hope so.
00:15:42And you don't even realize that like when you're when you're up, when you got somebody up for an F5, your whole midsection, your whole core is all exposed, just ready.
00:15:50And Roman saw that.
00:15:52And Roman realized like there's no like, oh, gee, I don't know.
00:15:55My cousin's, you know, going to get F5.
00:15:57I better not.
00:15:57It's just like, look, his is his whole rib cage is wide open.
00:16:02I'm going to shatter it right now.
00:16:05And he spears Brock Lesnar.
00:16:09And so as this is all going down and people are getting laid out and it's becoming much more competitive because you're right.
00:16:14When that first F5 hit Roman Reigns, when Roman Reigns was thrown in the ring, and that's what you were mentioning earlier.
00:16:22And Brock hits that first F5 and goes for the cover.
00:16:25I thought it was it.
00:16:26I was like, oh, my God, are they just going to finish?
00:16:28Is it going to be one of those nights where it's like, no, Brock's here, so you're not getting what you want.
00:16:33And we're used to that as wrestling fans.
00:16:35It's Brock.
00:16:36You know what I mean?
00:16:37We're like, oh, we're not going to get what we want.
00:16:39We're not going to get what we want.
00:16:40We're going to leave upset.
00:16:42And instead, I would say not upset, but with many, many questions, because just as as as the match is getting to that heated point where you can feel something's about to happen.
00:16:54A masked man comes out of nowhere, scales the cage, enters the war games cage, fully masked, not like a luchador mask, not like Grande Americano, like blacked out.
00:17:08No idea who this person is.
00:17:11Punk's looking at him.
00:17:13Braun Breaker's looking at him.
00:17:15Nobody really knows what the plan is here.
00:17:18And then, boom, we get a very Seth Rollins-like super kick.
00:17:21We get a Seth Rollins-like stomp to CM Punk, a look, a look over at Braun Breaker, and then scales the cage again, never to be seen again.
00:17:33It cannot be Seth Rollins.
00:17:35I cannot.
00:17:36I can't believe it's Seth Rollins.
00:17:38I can't believe he would get us twice.
00:17:39No.
00:17:40I can't believe he would go on Good Morning Football with a sling just to be fibbing to us.
00:17:45I mean, not just that.

00:17:50I saw him cooking with Burt Kreischer.

00:17:53And don't forget, it's not like Seth Rollins just got injured.

00:18:03So then why would he help Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed?

00:18:14She told Paul Heyman that her husband was coming back for everything that Paul Heyman loves in this business.
00:18:22I can't believe that Seth would come back, mask, do his moves, but not unmask and just leave.

00:18:35I was like, why do I feel like it might be R-Truth?

00:18:42That actually, other than the fact that R-Truth wore the same thing at Money in the Bank, it makes zero sense.

00:19:23And you're just sitting there.
00:19:24And of course, the first guess is AJ Styles.
00:19:26Then you realize that's the first guess because his name starts with A and it's alphabetical.
00:19:30You're like, no, that makes literally no sense whatsoever.
00:19:34So I don't know.
00:19:35I mean, Paul Heyman didn't look frightened by the whole thing.
00:19:39Of course he didn't.
00:19:40I would imagine that Paul Heyman had something to do with this unless this is just some rogue agent.
00:19:45They're to take out CM Punk specifically.
00:19:48Either way, they celebrated that victory.
00:19:53Braun Breaker follows up all that with the aforementioned Spear to CM Punk, who is representing Halloween 3 Season of the Witch hard in those trunks.
00:20:02I have already sent messages to the Mattel design team to see if we can get an action figure of CM Punk in his Halloween 3 gear.
00:20:09A lot of action figures coming out of War Games.
00:20:12A lot of horror themed.
00:20:13Yeah, we'll get to that too.
00:20:17But yeah, but I mean, maybe you won't want this action figure because you won't want to remember the night that he was pinned as world champion by Braun Breaker.
00:20:27And Paul Heyman, like a proud papa, and Logan Paul, and Drew McIntyre, and Braun Breaker, and Bronson Reed, and oh yeah, Brock Lesnar, are all smiles with their arms up in the air, victoriously celebrating a War Games victory as Pyro goes off on a level that would make Chelsea Green just absolutely livid.

00:20:53Well, that's a whole nother story to get into.
00:20:57So there's that, but then back in the ring.
00:21:01This is where things get real juicy.
00:21:03You know I love this stuff, and I'm so glad you do too.
00:21:06Yeah, because it's, you know, it's over, but we're still wondering.

00:21:10What about the tension between Punk, Cody, and Roman Reigns?
00:21:15And I'm sitting there mainly going Punk and Roman.
00:21:18Yeah, because we know that Roman hates Punk.
00:21:21Hates.
00:21:22Hates.
00:21:22Well, Roman is looking frustrated.
00:21:26Roman has lost a lot of matches this year compared to what he usually does.
00:21:31You know what I'm saying?
00:21:32Like, he's not used to entering.
00:21:33Yeah, I mean, he won SummerSlam, but Jay got the pin.
00:21:37And since then, he's.
00:21:38Well, he beat Bronson Reed once.
00:21:39He did, but then.
00:21:40But then he ended up hospitalized after.
00:21:42Yeah, that's a win with an asterisk.
00:21:44Asterisk.
00:21:44You would have to give it an asterisk.
00:21:46I won, but I ended up in the hospital.
00:21:49Right.

00:21:50That's not where you want to celebrate.

00:21:51So he goes and sits up.
00:21:54He's frustrated, clearly.
00:21:56And he walks over and he helps up CM Punk.
00:22:00Puts his arm down and CM Punk accepts the help.
00:22:03I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
00:22:06Punk puts out the fist.
00:22:07Because I would argue that the tension between Punk and Cody, between Punk and Roman, between, has not really been on Punk's side.
00:22:18Punk has been less sort of tense about any of this war game stuff than anybody else in the match has.

00:23:09Because this whole time I've been sitting there going, and then we could do CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
00:23:14I want to see CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
00:23:16And now?
00:23:17I want to see Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns part three.
00:23:21If you'll notice, and I was really watching this, Cody gets up and it looked like Roman was prepared to help Cody up as well.
00:23:30But Cody snapped up.
00:23:32He didn't accept it.
00:23:33And he was looking right at Roman like, I don't want your help.
00:23:36I don't want anything to do with you.
00:23:37I don't want your help.
00:23:39I'm the captain.
00:23:41I'm QB1.
00:23:42Yeah.
00:23:42But I also felt tension between Cody and Punk for a moment.
00:23:46I believe that there probably was.
00:23:48Because Punk was like, why are you being like this?
00:23:50And Cody was like, why are you losing my matches?
00:23:55Cody is the top guy.
00:23:57And there's a lot of contention around being the top guy.
00:24:00And Cody is not satisfied being one of the top guys.
00:24:03The idea that Cody is not the top guy with the amount of work that he has put in, with the journey that he took to get that championship.
00:24:10Twice.
00:24:11First from Roman Reigns.
00:24:12Imagine.
00:24:14You have to tackle the obstacle that is peak bloodline Roman Reigns.
00:24:19And as soon as you're done with that, John Cena is the next obstacle that you have to tackle.
00:24:25And still, you have people around you going like, well, I'm also the top guy.
00:24:29And Cody's like, no, you're not.
00:24:31That's my interpretation of this.
00:24:33That Cody is not.
00:24:35Cody referred to the war games as his birthright.
00:24:38He didn't enter this match for his team to lose.
00:24:40And he's not wrong.
00:24:41It is his birthright.
00:24:42Of course, it's his birthright.
00:24:43His dad created the match.
00:24:46And so Roman helping him up, it was almost as if Roman helping everybody was like, I'm the, for lack of a better term, I'm the big dog here.
00:24:56I'm going to help everybody up.
00:24:57And CM Punk was like, whatever.
00:24:58Like, it doesn't bother me.
00:24:59And Cody was like, no, you're not.
00:25:01You're not.
00:25:02I beat you.
00:25:03And I beat you for it.
00:25:05That was the whole energy that I got from Cody.
00:25:07He wasn't going to fist bump him.
00:25:09He wasn't going to accept his help up.
00:25:12And then Roman, okay.
00:25:16And then Roman turns around and looks at Cody.
00:25:18And did you hear what he said?
00:25:19He said, we'll never be teammates again.
00:25:20Yeah, just know.
00:25:22This is the last time.
00:25:23Ever.
00:25:24We are ever teammates.
00:25:27And Cody wasn't bothered by it at all.
00:25:31But he's like, great.
00:25:31I don't want to be your teammate.
00:25:33I mean, so much to dissect.
00:25:37So many questions there.
00:25:39I think there is a long way to go coming off of this men's war games match.
00:25:45And all of the story elements that took place and where we go.
00:25:49I think 2026 is going to be a wild year.
00:25:52Buckle up.

00:27:55I very much want to talk about what for me was the moment of the night and the reunion of Live Dom.
00:28:03But before we get there, Charlotte Flair is here on the Survivor Series War Games Recap, fresh off of her war games match.

00:28:21A victory in a war games match, mind you.
00:28:24Charlotte Flair is here.
00:28:25Charlotte, how are you, first of all?
00:28:27I'm a little sore, but I'm extremely happy.
00:28:33Yeah, I guess victories, victories will do that.
00:28:36First of all, do we want to talk about, do we want to talk about the gear?
00:28:40I noticed you came in, you were all kind of denimed out and we see it now.
00:28:45And they were talking on commentary about what it was all about.
00:28:49Talk to us about the dedication of this gear.
00:28:52No, so I think over the last two years, there were little Easter eggs all over my gear and my jacket that have kind of meant a lot to me, more so on my jacket.
00:29:05And then when I was out on injury, MJ, this guy who works with social media, had a bunch of kids at the show and one of them, her name was Scarlett.
00:29:19And she was convinced that Scarlett had the same name as Charlotte.
00:29:23So I was randomly sitting at home, depressed being out with my knee injury and MJ texted me.
00:29:30She was like, hey, do you mind?
00:29:31He was like, hey, do you mind FaceTiming this little girl who thinks she has your name?
00:29:36And I was like, no, like, oh, people remember who I am.
00:29:39Like, absolutely.
00:29:41So we FaceTime and I met her, but I kind of stayed in contact with her mom this whole time.
00:29:46And so anytime I've had shows and I've been able to see her, see her sister and the family, and she just gave me a lot of perspective while I was out about what matters and seeing her struggle and continue to fight and be so strong at such a young age.
00:30:06When, like, we think we're having a bad day, we're really not, like, it could be so much worse.
00:30:12And all these little things that I love, I felt like she inspired me.
00:30:18Not, I don't want to use the word inspired because it's cliche, but I don't know.
00:30:24She just brought out a softness in me.
00:30:26And I thought the gear was the most different I've ever worn and had one made for her.
00:30:32And just that we could have this moment together and what she means to me and her family.
00:30:36And if I could give a little bit of, you know, excitement to her day of the monotonous of what it's like having to fight cancer, I can't imagine.
00:30:47So it was just all for her.
00:30:50I think that's an amazing perspective.
00:30:53Like, realizing that as you're having that bad day, how much, like, worse it can get.
00:30:58And, you know, I'm sure having that, that gear and wearing it and everything is just kind of a, a, a, a, a, re-informing that perspective.
00:31:06I mean, that's it.
00:31:07Just like, hey, this is for you.
00:31:09If I could do something so small in the big scheme of life for her to make her day better and for her family, like, I'm going to do it.
00:31:16And I hope, you know, that gives her, all week I was sending her pictures of her hat and her jacket and the t-shirt coming.
00:31:25I can't wait to see you, Scarlett.
00:31:26I can't wait to see you.
00:31:27And I just hope that gave her and her family that little relief that they have with what she's fighting every day that I can't, and no one, unless you've been through that, can relate to and how hard that is.
00:31:37And so, like, when you wake up tired and have to do something, you're like, I'm really, like, I get to work out.
00:31:44I get to go to work.
00:31:45I get to do these things.
00:31:46And it's perspective.
00:31:48Like, why am I having a bad day?
00:31:50I'm not.
00:31:50It's just being petty or whatever.
00:31:53We lose sight of what's important.
00:31:55And it's those connections that I've met along the way.
00:31:58And that family, like, she really just, I don't know, like, touched me.
00:32:05Yeah, I mean.
00:32:06We did go to a Rams game together.
00:32:08You did?
00:32:09That's amazing.
00:32:10Yeah.
00:32:11It's been, I mean, it's been a really remarkable year for you in general.
00:32:15And I feel like kind of this being the last PLE of the year is putting that in context for a lot of people, but you included, where you started at the beginning of the year, kind of, it seemed like figuring out exactly who you were and almost trying to reconnect with the audience.
00:32:33In terms of what they expected from you and what you expected the reaction to be and finding that middle ground for you to get to the end of the year here.
00:32:42And for you to kind of be in this spot where you are universally cheered, whatever city that you go to, where you are not only a member of the good guys war games team, but you're the one that's in the ring the entire time.
00:32:59And you're the one that, that, that people are cheering for at the, at the end of the match.
00:33:04Uh, do you feel like you've been on a, a, a journey in that respect all year?
00:33:14Yeah, I think, um,
00:33:16Sina pulled me aside after WrestleMania was like, you don't have to be perfect all the time.
00:33:26And then I wrote the players to be in peace.
00:33:29And I felt like for so long, I felt like just all this pressure of like always having to be perfect and wanting to be perfect.
00:33:36When I really truly realized after everything I just kind of been through and in front of the audience, I felt like I always had to be indestructible when really like getting to know my flaws and my insecurities and who I am as like who Ashley is as a person allowed me to connect with them.
00:33:56And like all those things that I was scared of, of them knowing or failing or not being good enough or my age or whatever it is.
00:34:05Um, I was like, you know what, this is me here.
00:34:08Like, I don't know.
00:34:11It was like, what made me special were all those things that I've been through and letting the audience see that.
00:34:16And they've just been on this like rollercoaster with me and then getting to pair with Lexi and kind of bringing me back, um, like a softer side and having an on camera friendship that I haven't, I've been a solo actor so long.
00:34:34And I felt like was a bigger moment for me than rumble.
00:34:38Like it felt like I've won the title how many times, but like that felt special and organic and like no one had that on their bingo card and it's just been, it's been awesome being able to let go of the pressure and just enjoy the WWE universe.
00:34:57Being like, Hey, I grew up in front of you guys.
00:35:00I love you guys.
00:35:01I want to enjoy this as much as you do.
00:35:03So maybe I won't try to be, you know, being, being perfect.
00:35:07Isn't cool.
00:35:08It took me a long time to learn that.
00:35:11That's as you put that on bumper sticker, that's like the name of your book.
00:35:14Like that, that is such a simple thing to say, but that people don't really.
00:35:19So true.
00:35:19Yeah.
00:35:20Yeah.
00:35:20But it took me 10 years to figure that out.
00:35:23Yeah.
00:35:23I mean, because I think that that's something people strive for in a lot of different fields and don't realize that number one, it can, it can make it so that you don't enjoy what you're doing.
00:35:34Number two, it's almost impossible to achieve.
00:35:36And number three, when you do achieve it, people are going to be like, yeah, that's not that cool.
00:35:42Yes.
00:35:43It's wild.
00:35:44You know, it's funny.
00:35:47Well, it's funny.
00:35:48You know, you talk about, it's taken you 10 years to figure this out.
00:35:52And then you look at this women's war games match.
00:35:54And I mean, there is just the biggest stars in the industry in the women's war games match.
00:36:02You know, it's, it's Charlotte flair.
00:36:04It's Becky Lynch.
00:36:05You have Nia Jax, Alexa bliss.
00:36:07I mean, Rhea Ripley, um, star studded doesn't even begin to describe this.
00:36:14And you're in the ring mixing up with people that you have a deep history with, but you are a different Charlotte flair.
00:36:22So what was that like having that all come together tonight?
00:36:25Starting with Asuka, um, she really is one of my wrestling soulmates having the moment with Becky and the four horsewomen.
00:36:38And here we are 10 years later, still going at it.
00:36:42Um, EO, I was against EO in my first war games in 2023 before I got hurt against the Kabukis when EO was damaged control.
00:36:52So to now be on the same side as her, and then, you know, I had this like little proud moment watching Rhea come out.
00:37:00So I was like, we've had two WrestleManias against each other, multiple matches, multiple pay-per-views.
00:37:08And then just seeing the mega star that she has turned into, it's like, I got to see all that firsthand.
00:37:16And I was very proud.
00:37:19And then, um, to be on the same side as her too, because we've been against each other for so long, but it really is like, I had history with almost every single girl out there except for AJ.
00:37:30But I kind of feel connected to AJ because I was the last and final Divas champion.
00:37:36So you had AJ and then Nikki was the longest.
00:37:39So I feel like a part of that history.
00:37:41And then to be in the ring with her, um, really a full circle moment if people think about it.
00:37:46Cause we were two Divas champions.
00:37:50Absolutely.
00:37:50Yeah.
00:37:51And I think that's, I mean, I could keep talking about, I could go on and on, but those are just like, I think like the highlights.
00:37:55Well, well, yeah.
00:37:57And I think one of the highlights was, and this was something that Megan and I had talked about going into this match was that we were both pretty excited about the potential of there at least being a moment between you and Becky, because, you know, regardless of, of, you know, what's real and what story for fans, Charlotte and Becky is one of those things that will never get old, that will last forever.
00:38:20And I mean, from a fan perspective, from my perspective, I think from Megan's perspective as well, we view you guys in that wrestling soulmate category, whether you're getting along or not, is there, was there a feeling when you guys looked face to face for the first time in a long time and actually started getting physical again?
00:38:43Well, yeah, I think it was, you know, the last time we saw each other in the ring, we hugged and then here we are.
00:38:50It was in the last war games.
00:38:52So we haven't, we haven't crossed, we haven't crossed paths at all.
00:38:58Like even when war games was settled and the teams were settled, Becky and I didn't have any interaction.
00:39:04So to kind of have that moment in there was like, I don't know.
00:39:16It's just like, you'll stand the test of time, whether we're teaming or not teaming again.
00:39:19I don't know.
00:39:20It's just fight forever.
00:39:21Right.
00:39:22Absolutely.
00:39:23Absolutely.
00:39:24There wouldn't be a Becky without a Charlotte and there wouldn't be a Charlotte without a Becky.
00:39:29That's right.
00:39:29Yeah.
00:39:30That's a hundred percent true.
00:39:31I mean, this is what everybody was talking about when the graphic just came out.
00:39:34It was like, is there going to be a Charlotte Becky moment?
00:39:36And all of us fans wanted to see it.
00:39:38But at the same time, I think too, the history you were talking about with Rhea Ripley, like, and that was a big story going into this match that you two having a history played into it.
00:39:50You touched on it, but the reality is that, you know, the first time you guys met at WrestleMania at 36 during the pandemic, this was Rhea Ripley fresh off of NXT.
00:40:01And really, I don't think had, had fully found herself at all when it comes to performing on the main roster.
00:40:07And you go, you know, five, six years into the future.
00:40:11And here she is right up there with the Charlotte Flares and the Becky Lynches of the biggest stars in the industry.
00:40:20A hundred percent.
00:40:21Did you see that change happening?
00:40:23Or is that one of those things that you observe now and go, damn, she did it?
00:40:29Oh, no, I saw it at 39.
00:40:31From there, it was sky's the limit.
00:40:34After 30, after WrestleMania 39, boom, I felt like that solidified her as it made like the rest was history.
00:40:41Totally.
00:40:43When, uh, when, uh,
00:40:44I mean, not the rest of me, she just kept growing and growing and growing.
00:40:47Like, it was just like, you know, those balls that roll and keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
00:40:52That's just what she's turned into.
00:40:54Yeah.
00:40:55Yeah.
00:40:55With no sign of slowing down at any point.
00:40:58Exactly.
00:40:59Yeah.
00:40:59They put out the, the, the commercial like a day or two ago for WrestleMania with the women sitting all at the table, the top stars in the industry.
00:41:08You are there.
00:41:09You have now won this war games match with your team.
00:41:14You, you, you went the distance too.
00:41:15You were the first one in wrestling, went the distance again, by the way, that's kind of a flare thing to do.
00:41:21I feel like the, the tag team run was incredibly successful with Alexa bliss, but you're not a tag team champion anymore.
00:41:28As, as, as you now start looking towards what next year is going to be, start getting into the sort of WrestleMania mind frame of what may be happening.
00:41:36Do you want to step back into going, okay, now that I've kind of redefined who Charlotte Flair is, I want to see what this Charlotte Flair looks like as a singles wrestler, or do you think teaming is still more where your head's at?
00:41:52I think for the last couple of years of my career and what I wanted, I felt like I've been struggling to feel like I needed control.
00:42:05And meaning like, I thought I had a vision for myself and what I needed to do and what I needed to be and what title I needed to hold or how I needed to be in the title pick, like what character or what dominance I needed to be in the title seat.
00:42:21I don't know what the future holds for me, honestly, whether that's winning again with Lexi, whether that's, you know, winning an opportunity to face Jade or even Stephanie.
00:42:34I don't, I don't know.
00:42:35I just want to be better.
00:42:38I still, I know people don't get this, but like, just cause you've accomplished so much, you don't lose that hunger.
00:42:46Like Bailey texted me tonight.
00:42:48We have this nickname.
00:42:49She said the nickname and she was like, good job.
00:42:51I'm so proud.
00:42:52Like I, I, I love knowing, like I can still continue.
00:42:57I don't know what the, what looks like for me.
00:42:59I would have never pictured myself here today, eight months ago, seven months ago, I was so lost.
00:43:06So I don't know if, if I get put back in the title scene, then I'm just going to give it the best I got, I guess.
00:43:13I don't, yeah, I don't have something that I want.
00:43:16I think I always wanted certain things where this is just kind of taking me on this journey.
00:43:23I love that.
00:43:24Yeah.
00:43:24And I keep thinking about the fact that John Cena pulled you aside at WrestleMania and gave you the advice that you don't always have to be perfect.
00:43:31Yeah.
00:43:31He was like, stop being perfect.
00:43:33He's like, own who you are, own what you've been through.
00:43:36And I was like, okay, I don't know how to do that.
00:43:41Yeah.
00:43:42I mean, it's amazing.
00:43:43On his retirement tour, we talk about all the matches, but it's those backstage interactions too, that have made a difference in so many people's careers and so many moments that we've seen in front of the camera.
00:43:55What has John Cena meant to you throughout your wrestling career?
00:44:03He's just the gold standard.
00:44:06I mean, the way he interacts with the audience, whether, you know, one minute they're saying, John, let's go Cena.
00:44:13Cena sucks.
00:44:14And then getting the whole crowd standing up on their feet and what he does with Make-A-Wish, what he's able to do with his opponents, his charisma, his work ethic, his love for the business.
00:44:24I don't, he's just like the total package of what it means to be a WWE superstar.
00:44:34Well, that's awesome.
00:44:35Charlotte, I love getting this perspective from you.
00:44:38I love hearing where you're at right now, especially, and I, and I think we both really appreciate you making time for us after spending an hour in a double ring cage match.

00:47:53Dominic Mysterio and he must have gotten this idea watching poor Penta in his match with Solo in the John Cena tournament because Dom goes for a similar Hurricane Rana off the, you know, off the off the barricade there.
00:48:08And it looks like he hurts his shoulder.
00:48:11And John Cena gets in the ring.
00:48:12You kind of see on his face.
00:48:13John Cena was like, I'm not trying to injure young guys in my second to last match.
00:48:18It almost sounded like you heard Cena say, are you OK?
00:48:20Yeah, because he's like, I'm not trying to, I'm trying to beat you, but I'm not trying to put you on the shelf.
00:48:26I mean, this is not what this retirement tour is about.
