00:09Just one week before the Oscars,

00:111917 dominated the 2020 BAFTA Awards.

00:14The World War I epic from director Sam Mendez

00:17cleaned up on Sunday night in London,

00:19adding to its growing Hall of Honors in the U.S.

00:21with seven awards on its home soil,

00:23including for Best Film, Director, and Cinematography.

00:27Elsewhere, Joker came away with three wins,

00:29including a Best Actor nod for Joaquin Phoenix.

00:32And Renee Zellweger earned Best Actress honors for Judy.

00:35Miss Garland, London town,

00:38which you have always loved so much,

00:40still loves you back.

00:42This is for you.

00:43Laura Dern was named Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story,

00:46while Brad Pitt won Best Supporting Actor

00:48for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

00:50His co-star, Margot Robbie, accepted the award on his behalf

00:53and read his acceptance speech,

00:55which poked a little fun at Megxit.

00:57Oh, and he says that he is going to name this Harry,

01:01because he is really excited about bringing it back to the States with him.

01:09BAFTA President Prince William was in the audience.

01:12Towards the end of the ceremony, he gave a speech

01:14in which he criticized the Academy's recent diversity crisis,

01:17following a year in which no black talent was nominated in the main acting categories.

01:22We find ourselves talking again about the need to do more

01:26to ensure diversity in the sector and in the awards process.

01:30That simply cannot be right in this day and age.
