00:00Mike White is not holding back. Following the season 3 finale of The White Lotus,
00:04the creator is getting candid about the series' Emmy-winning composer announcing that he's quitting
00:09the show. Last week, composer Cristobal Tapia DeVere told the New York Times that he's exiting
00:16the show after feuding with White over the score, saying,
00:19We already had our last fight forever. In a new interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday,
00:24White was asked about the composer's comments. He said, quote,
00:27I honestly don't know what happened, except now I'm reading his interviews because he
00:31decides to do some PR campaign about him leaving the show. I don't think he respected me. He wants
00:36people to know that he's edgy and dark and I'm, I don't know, like, I watch reality TV. We never
00:41really even fought. He says we feuded. I don't think I ever had to fight with him, except for maybe some
00:45emails. He went on to say, it was basically me giving him notes. I don't think he liked going
00:50through the process of getting notes from me or wanting revisions because he didn't respect me.
00:54I knew he wasn't a team player and that he wanted to do it his way. I was thrown that he would go to
00:58the New York Times to on me on the show three days before the finale. It was kind of a move.
01:03White also revealed that he struggled with DeVere during the first two seasons, saying,
01:07By the time the third season came around, he'd won Emmys and he had his song go viral. He didn't
01:11want to go through the process with me. He didn't want to go to sessions. He would always look at me
01:15with this contemptuous smirk on his face like he thought I was a chimp or something. Like he's
01:19definitely making a big deal out of a creative difference. He concluded the topic with adding,
01:24He's very talented, but I'd never kiss somebody's a** so hard just to get him to,
01:28to lead that horse to water. Have fun with whatever you're doing next.
