Former 'SNL' castmember Bobby Moynihan has said that Tom Hanks didn't quite understand the goofy haunted house bit featuring David S. Pumpkins when they were working on it almost a year ago, and he tried to talk his way of it.

00:27didn't even want to do the Saturday Night Live sketch.

00:32Former cast member Bobby Moynihan told Seth Meyers

00:35on NBC's Late Night on Wednesday

00:37that Hanks didn't quite understand the goofy haunted house

00:40bit when they were working on it almost a year ago.

00:43Tom Hanks in between dress and air, not a fan of the sketch.

00:47Thought it was very bizarre.

00:48He thought it was very bizarre and was like, hey,

00:50I think Chris Hemsworth, the following week's host,

00:53would make a great David Pumpkins.

00:54But now he is very happy with it, as he should be.

00:58The sketch went viral the following morning,

01:00and costume shops couldn't keep the character's

01:02jack-o'-lantern suit on the shelves.

01:04The official SNL YouTube video now has more than 8.3 million views.

01:11Moynihan co-wrote the skit and played one of Pumpkins' sidekick
