00:06Burr Reynolds, the charismatic star of such films as Deliverance, The Longest Yard, and Smokey and the Bandit,
00:12who set out to have as much fun as possible on and off the screen and wildly succeeded, has died.
00:18He was 82. Reynolds died Thursday morning at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida.
00:23His manager confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.
00:26The actor first rose to fame when he joined the TV series Gunsmoke for its eighth season in 1962.

00:37Reynolds went on to be the number one box office attraction for a five-year stretch, starting in the late 1970s.
00:44He was Hollywood's top-grossing star every year from 1978 through 1982.

01:19The actor received an Oscar nomination and won a Golden Globe for his role in 1997's Boogie Nights.

01:33Reynolds also received awards recognition for his starring role in the CBS sitcom Evening Shade,
01:38winning an Emmy for his work on the show in 1991.
01:40Despite the ups and downs of a Hollywood life, the iconic actor seemed to have no regrets.
01:45He wrote in the final paragraph of his memoir, published in 2015,
