Aubrey Plaza is opening up about the grief surrounding her late husband's passing, who died by suicide. 'The White Lotus' actress appeared on the 'Good Hang with Amy Poehler' podcast where she discussed how she's doing in the wake of Jeff Baena's death in January.

00:09Aubrey Plaza is opening up about the grief surrounding her late husband's passing,
00:14who died by suicide. The White Lotus actress appeared on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler
00:19podcast, where she discussed how she's doing in the wake of Jeff Bainer's death in January.
00:24Poehler broached the subject with her former Perks and Rec castmate,
00:27noting that many of her fans want to know how she is given the tragic circumstances.
00:32I'm in this very present moment. I'm happy to be with you.
00:36Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning and I feel, you know, like I feel really grateful
00:44to be moving through the world. She continued, I'm okay, but you know,
00:50it's a daily struggle, obviously. Plaza went on to use the Apple TV Plus sci-fi movie,
00:55The Gorge, as a metaphor for what it's like trying to deal with having a dark
00:58and monstrous ever-present void in your life. It's like an alien movie with Miles Teller.
01:04In the movie, there's a cliff on one side and a cliff on the other side,
01:07and there's a gorge in the middle with monster people that are trying to get them.
01:11I watched it. I was like, that is like, feels like what my grief is like, where it's like,
01:17or what grief could be like. She continued,
01:19at all time, there's like a giant ocean of awfulness that's like right there and I can
01:24see it. And like, sometimes I, I just want to like, just dive into it and just like be in it.
01:30And then, and then sometimes I just like look at it. And then sometimes I'm like,
01:34I just try to get away from it, but it's always there.
01:36Baina was a 47 year old indie film director and writer and died in his Los Angeles home in January.
01:43Plaza and Baina were married since 2021.
