Jesse Palmer, a one-time 'Bachelor' star himself, will become the new face of the franchise when season 26 premieres.

00:00ABC has found its new host for The Bachelor.

00:04The network has announced that ESPN analyst and one-time Bachelor star Jesse Palmer

00:08will become the new face of the franchise when season 26 premieres.

00:12Production is set to start at the end of September,

00:15with the season expected to air in January of 2022.

00:18Palmer spoke out about the exciting opportunity in a statement saying,

00:21Falling in love is one of life's greatest gifts,

00:24and I'm humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season

00:27to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from first-hand experience,

00:31and I'm grateful to play a small part in his journey.

00:34Palmer, of course, knows a thing or two about the journey to find love,

00:37as he himself was the season 5 Bachelor.

00:39He's remained in the extended franchise family, hosting ABC's The Proposal,

00:43as well as being a contributor for ABC's Good Morning America

00:46and across all ABC news platforms.

00:49He joined ESPN as an analyst in 2007 after five seasons in the NFL.

00:54He's also served as host of Daily Mail TV

00:56and most recently hosted ABC's The Ultimate Surfer.

01:00Palmer being named host ends a search that began when long-time host Chris Harrison

01:04parted ways with the franchise earlier this summer

01:06after stepping aside during the controversial 2021 season of The Bachelor.

01:11Elsewhere, the network has yet to publicly name the star of season 26,

01:14but that search has also concluded.
