The results of the 17th Sabah State Election should start coming in by 10pm on Saturday (Nov 29), and the full outcome should be known by midnight, says the Election Commission.

00:00Despite the wet weather, many voters in Sabah still came out in droves to fulfill their
00:05voting rights in the state election on Saturday.
00:08The Election Commission said voter turnout stood at 56.78% as of 3pm, which was lower
00:15than the 59.09% in the 2020 election.
00:19They said they expect the turnout to be around 60% when the polls close at 5.30pm.
00:25In Tamparuli Town, voters said the process was well organized and the election officials
00:29were efficient in carrying out their duties.
00:59The election commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said the results of the election
01:07should start coming in by 10pm, and the full results should be known by midnight.
01:12He said some polling centres were closed at noon because they had a low number of voters.
01:17He said most of them had fewer than 100 voters.
01:20The commission also mobilized helicopters at 85 polling centres in remote areas and islands
01:26to gather ballot papers.
01:28A total of 596 candidates from 23 parties, as well as independents, are vying for 73 seats
01:36in the state legislative assembly.
01:38There are some 1.78 million registered voters in this election.
