Sabah police are fully prepared to ensure a safe and smooth state election later this month, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Home Minister said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun briefed him that preparations for the polls are at an advanced stage.

Nomination is set for Nov 15 and polling for Nov 29.

00:19He said the Sabah Police contingent currently comprises about 10,000 personnel statewide.
00:25Saifuddin adds reinforcements will be brought in from the Sarawak Police contingent if needed.
00:32In terms of training, Saifuddin adds police have conducted simulation exercises and coordination
00:38briefings with related agencies.
00:41He said the focus includes safeguarding ballot boxes in interior areas.
00:46He also said voters should not be worried about threats, intimidation or any form of pressure
00:53as ensuring voter safety is a core police responsibility.
00:58Nomination is set for November 15 and polling for November 29.
