00:04Abdul Halim Siddhaq Ghulam Hassan, will remain on the ballot paper in the Sabah state election.

00:10The Commission's Secretary, Datuk Khairul Shahril Idris, said election regulations do not allow

00:15candidates to retract their nomination after the deadline at 10 a.m. last Saturday. He said

00:21therefore, Abdul Halim Siddhaq's name will stay on the ballot paper for the November 29th polls.

00:27On Monday, PKR's Abdul Halim Siddhaq announced his decision to withdraw from the election

00:33for the sake of maintaining unity in Pakatan Harappan and its political partners.

00:39He said the decision was made without any coercion from anyone, and he had taken into account

00:45various considerations before stepping aside. He said coalition cohesion is essential for

00:51political stability in the state. Pakatan fielding a candidate in SILAM would go against

00:57the coalition's seat arrangement understanding with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Barisan National,
