00:00Describe the movie in one sentence.
00:04Two lonely men make each other less lonely.
00:09Nice.
00:10That sounds like a porno.
00:13That's what we're selling.
00:20Is it sort of true that this movie
00:23was sort of inspired by the Olsen twins?
00:26I'd say inspired in the sense that they were
00:29a source of formative inspiration for me,
00:32but I wouldn't say anything about their lives
00:35or their films directly inspired the plot.
00:37Love, love the parentress.
00:39Not bad.
00:40Oh, that's why someone asked me yesterday
00:42if Lindsay Lohan was a twin.
00:44Well, it's sort of similar because she's,
00:46she played twins.
00:47I understand.
00:50I have a British sister and people always say,
00:54oh, like the parent trap.
00:55And I'm like, no, we're just sisters.
00:58And we grew up in different countries.
00:59That's my relationship to the parent trap.
01:01But you knew each other as children.
01:03Yes.
01:04So not like the movie.
01:05So not.
01:07Dylan and I met in 2020.
01:09And then we were green light two weeks before the WGA strike.
01:13So that we were kind of in a holding pattern for half a year.
01:17And then we got the green light, go, go, go, go.
01:20And then we rushed to cast these lovely ladies.
01:23I got offered it on a Wednesday night and set on a Friday morning.
01:25So it was quick.
01:27Oh, it was fast.
01:28It was fun.
01:30What is, Lauren, what is the fastest that you have ever done from,
01:33from author to showing up on set?
01:36Um, it was Gilmore Girls.
01:39What?
01:40Whoa, whoa.
01:41Really?
01:41Sorry.
01:42Breaking game.
01:42Whoa.
01:43Because I was on another show, so they wouldn't see me for a long time.
01:48And then they finally, I think I got it on a Friday and flew to Canada on like,
01:53Saturday or Sunday.
01:54Wow.
01:55Yeah.
01:55I know.
01:56Okay, so that worked out.
01:57It worked out okay.
01:58It worked out.
01:59What were each other's first impression as playing?
02:03Ooh, fun.
02:05Yeah, just fun.
02:06I, I don't know.
02:08I, I adore him immediately.
02:10I, is that wrong?
02:11Uh, I didn't feel that way.
02:13I understand.
02:15No, I do, I do feel like we, we sort of instantly had
02:19like, uh, some kind of just connectivity that was like really natural.
02:24Yeah.
02:24Like, I wonder if you had that with everybody because you're so charming.
02:28Certainly not.
02:28No, no.
02:30Who haven't you had that with?
02:31Ah, we're getting to the juice.
02:35This is why I'm sitting far away from you.
02:40No, I don't have that with everybody.
02:42Wow.
02:42I'm in a birth sign.
02:44Oh, which one specifically?
02:46Which one?
02:47Yeah.
02:47Gaps.
02:47Oh, you're a Virgo.
02:49Oh, sure.
02:49Ah.
02:50We're opposites in a good way.
02:52Like, all my college roommates are Virgos.
02:54Like, it's, it's a good, it is.
02:56It's a good.
02:57What kind are you?
02:57I'm Pisces.
02:58Me too.
02:59Oh, really?
02:59You have Pisces room.
03:00Oh, my God.
03:01Hey.
03:01See?
03:02I'm your mom.
03:03That's fine.
03:04I'm your mom.
03:07Did you do this right after Speak No Evil?
03:09Did I do this?
03:11No, I actually had done something right before it, like a little improv movie.
03:15But yes, so shortly.
03:17I was curious about like the going from tone to tone.
03:20Oh, yeah.
03:20That was, I mean, I've never done anything in this tone ever.
03:23So, yeah.
03:25Smiling a lot was new for me to like practice.
03:28The improv movie was also a James McAvoy, wasn't it?
03:31Yeah.
03:31Cool.
03:32Just six days of improv.
03:34Oh, wow.
03:34Yeah.
03:35The first time you got recognized on the street.
03:38Does anyone have a memory of that?
03:42I was in a shoe store and someone asked me for an autograph and I signed it.
03:48And then somebody tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around.
03:51I was like, oh, my God, this is crazy.
03:54I am huge.
03:55And the person goes, do you have these in a night?
03:59I was like, oh, yeah, I'm just regular still.
04:04I was in Walmart yesterday.
04:07The other night.
04:08And a woman asked me if I knew where the linens were.
04:13And I said, I don't work here.
04:16What about anyone's first time being starstruck?
04:19I was very excited when I sat next to John C. Reilly.
04:23And then once I was in the lift with Willem Dafoe and I was like, I love it.
04:27Amid it.
04:27Did you say anything?
04:28No.
04:30Yeah, I had to play cool.
04:31Yeah.
04:33Seems like you were real good.
04:34I interned on a film in college where Kristen Bell was one of the actresses and I was standing
04:44guard and I had some sort of snack and she's like trying to get in and I have to stop her.
04:48I'm like, do you want some?
04:50And she's like, no.
04:51Oh, she's very sweet, but it was embarrassing for me.
04:57I'm starstruck by everybody.
04:59It's really a problem.
05:01I did a movie with Meryl Streep.
05:04I was a nightmare the whole time.
05:06That one's kind of fair.
05:07Yeah.
05:08There's like a little mic to drop just there.
05:10That was pretty cool.
05:10No.
05:11Just throw in there.
05:12I didn't film with Meryl Streep.
05:14To the degree that just blood was pounding in my ears during all of our scenes,
05:19which is not a good way to be an actor, but it was pretty cool.
05:25My dad was a camera operator.
05:27And when I was, I think, nine, he was working on the New York unit.
05:33He was BTM up on the New York unit for Spider-Man.
05:37And Bring It On had just come out and I was in love with Kirsten Dunst.
05:41And I got to go there shooting in Queens one night.
05:43My mom took me to watch from the set and they were shooting a scene.
05:47And I was just watching Kirsten Dunst from like afar, like a really long far away.
05:52With binoculars.
05:53Yeah.
05:56Couldn't hear them, but I thought that was so cool.
05:59Does anyone have a one movie that like they always watch over and over again?
06:04It's weirdly Godfather one and two.
06:06Oh, thanks.
06:07Oh.
06:07I can, I can never not, I can never turn away.
06:10Do you have a preference between two?
06:13I feel guilty if I rewatch movies.
06:15Really?
06:15Oh my God, I love it.
06:17Because I'm like, there's so many movies to watch.
06:19No, I feel that.
06:20Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:20Yeah.
06:21Favorite movie is Barton Fink though, shout it.
