The cast of 'Gen V' stop by THR's suite at San Diego Comic-Con and talk about that explosive season one finale and dish on where season two picks up and what to expect from each character. Plus, they reveal if there will be any surprise cameos in season two and more!

00:25Gen V and we're with the Hollywood Reporter. Nailed it. So the season one
00:29finale was explosive in so many ways. Where does season two pick up from what
00:34you can tell us? Well season two we pick up where the boys left off really.
00:39Homelander is taking over and you feel that on the Godolken campus like really
00:44extremely almost right away. So that's where we pick up. In the season one
00:48finale Marie starts to really realize just how powerful she can be. How will she
00:53step more into her power in season two? Yeah I mean you know in season one
00:58Marie's whole thing was like you know in order to use my power it has to hurt.
01:02And then learning that she doesn't have to like cut her hands to use her powers it
01:06kind of opens up a whole world of what's possible and we definitely explore that
01:10quite a bit in season two. Now Maddie for you Kate was really kind of the
01:14instigator of the massacre in a lot of ways but at the end of season one she's
01:19hailed as one of the new you know guardians of Godolken. What can you say
01:22about what we can expect from her in season two? We can expect to see the
01:28consequences of when one's misguided actions affect literally everybody. So
01:37there's a lot of tension there with the friends and yeah it's it's exciting and
01:45yeah Explosive was funny. And London and Derek for you when I was watching season one
01:51it's almost like you kind of forget that there's two of you playing the one part
01:54because it just so seamlessly flows from one person to the other. How do you work
01:59together to create this seamless portrayal? Telepathically. You just speak telepathically.
02:05That's it. Yeah we collaborate together we talked about it and had a good meeting but I think it is
02:14just it is kind of telepathically at this point. And then Hamish for you talked about
02:18your character this season and what we're gonna see from him. I play the new Dean at
02:24Godolken University Dean Cypher and I am a bit of a cypher. Yeah.
02:33Now you mentioned Homelander you know we saw him in the season one finale and of
02:37course then saw the you know just what happened in the boys last season and
02:42there were some other cameos from people from the boys in season one of Gen V.
02:47Can we expect more of that in season two? Yes. We'll have some really good ones and maybe some
02:55unexpected ones and some fun ones but like we really try to connect to both shows and sort of
03:04have a through line in the story of both shows. It's fun but also we stand on our own as our own
03:12thing too. And how do you work to balance that making it its own world and own show but
03:17also fitting into this greater the boys universe? To be honest it's not too hard I think because both
03:22shows have a really distinct identity and I said the first season of the show the good guys on our
03:31show are the bad guys on the boys in some ways and so you're sort of seeing it from these guys
03:37perspective where they're you know ripe to be corrupted by Vought but like are they going to be?
03:43So yeah and we were always talking to Eric Kripke and collaborating on how we can fit into each
03:52other's worlds and yes just the shows talk to each other in a really fun way. Now I want to have
03:59you do some fun bucket questions with our crypto popcorn bucket so maybe three people grab one and
04:06everybody can answer or everyone can grab one. What would your superhero name be?
04:12Oh that's good. Bloody Marie. Super Mister. Wait your superhero name or the? Everybody's. But like yours?
04:21Or personally? No no no like London's or Jazz's? Jordan's? I was thinking yours personally yeah but you can also do you know the one for your character.
04:31That's just because Andre called me that in the first season. So that's my final answer. Keep it. I might
04:40be like zone out because I do zone out a bit. That's good. When Paris thought I was epileptic they thought I was having petty mild seizures but it's actually just association. Anyway okay. I don't know what mine would be.
04:54Yours would be Neat Freak. That's such a good superhero name by the way. That's a great one. I wouldn't have one because I don't want powers. I think what I've learned from these shows is you don't want powers. Powers are stupid and they're gonna get you killed. No. I think Derek and I could be like a duo of Neat Freak and Control Freak.
