Transcript
00:00On Tuesday, Michael Moore launched a website called, wait for it, Trumpy Leaks.
00:05The site is meant to, quote, enable courageous whistleblowers to privately communicate with Moore and his team.
00:12The filmmaker and activist, as well as a frequent outspoken critic of Trump,
00:16announced the launch with a letter on Huffington Post.
00:19In it, he wrote that Donald Trump thinks, acts, and has stated that he's above the law.
00:24Patriotic Americans in government, law enforcement, or the private sector with knowledge of crimes,
00:30breaches of public trust, and misconduct committed by Donald J. Trump and his associates
00:35are needed to blow the whistle in the name of protecting the United States of America from tyranny, writes Moore.
00:42On his site, Moore offers a variety of ways to submit information,
00:45using tools he says are secure to protect anonymity if the source desires to do so.
00:50He's accepting information in the form of documents, photographs, and audio or video recordings.
00:55The power and the importance of whistleblowing is part of the American tradition,
01:00and as old as the republic itself, writes Moore.
01:03He continues, without the assurance of confidentiality,
01:06many whistleblowers will simply refuse to come forward,
01:08and reporters will be unable to provide the American public with the information they need
01:13to make decisions as an informed electorate.
01:16So, Moore is creating a safe place to whistleblow.
01:19What do you think about the new site?
01:20Comment and let me know, guys.
01:21But remember, here, it's not confidential.
01:24For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Paul Costabile.
01:28That's a different kind.
