Warner Bros.' R-rated horror pic 'Doctor Sleep' — a sequel to Stephen King's 'The Shining' — should win the weekend box office race with a debut of $25 million or more.

00:00With the box office race coming up this weekend with multiple openings, it looks like
00:04Warner Bros.' R-rated horror pick, Dr. Sleep, is expected to come out on top.
00:09A sequel to Stephen King's The Shining and opening 39 years after that film hit theaters,
00:14Dr. Sleep, an adaptation of King's 2013 novel of the same name, is set decades after
00:19the events of The Shining and follows a grown-up Danny, played by Ewan McGregor,
00:23as he grapples with his psychic abilities and the trauma of the past.
00:26But the R-rated horror thriller isn't the only fresh offering to hit theaters over
00:31Veterans Day weekend. The holiday-themed romantic comedy Last Christmas is also coming out
00:35and tracking shows the film opening in the mid-teens, but the pick could overperform.
00:40From Universal and inspired by the George Michael song of the same name, Last Christmas
00:45stars Emilia Clarke as a troubled artist whose misfortunes start to change when a young
00:49man, played by Henry Golding, begins appearing in her life. The movie also stars Emma
00:54Thompson and Michelle Yeoh. Another weekend offering timed for Veterans Day is Roland
00:58Emmerich's big budget World War II epic Midway. The film is currently tracking the
01:03launch in the low to mid-teens. The $100 million indie stars Patrick Wilson, Woody
01:07Harrelson and Nick Jonas, among others. The fourth new release of The Weeknd, which is
01:11Paramount and Molded Media's PG Family Friendly Playing With Fire, starring John Cena
01:16and Keegan-Michael Key, among others, is about a group of firefighters facing their most
01:20challenging job yet, babysitting. And finally, at the specialty box office, Amazon Studios
01:25opens the critically acclaimed Honey Boy, an awards season contender written by and
