Transcript
00:00The cast is so close, um, on Riverdale. Um, obviously you all lost Luke Perry. Um, do you,
00:09you know, is there any, do you know anything going forward? What, what you're, I don't know
00:13how they're going to handle, um, any of it. I just, you know, we were kind of coming up and
00:19looking at your beautiful pictures here and talking a little bit about loss, um, and seeing
00:25pictures on, on the wall. And, you know, I was saying in the, saying to you that it's just
00:29sometimes it's hard to wrap your mind around. It's still around mortality, mortality, and
00:34that someone's here and then not, you know, and, you know, Luke and I stayed in the same
00:38hotel. He never got an apartment. There's like Robin, I don't live here. I'm not getting an
00:41apartment, you know, but we would all like, we were always like, so we take a ride home
00:46from the studio to the hotel at night and, Oh God, talk politics more than you could possibly
00:51imagine and talk about our kids more than you can imagine and go, you know, you want
00:56to go get, grab a bite. I'm going to go get crab legs. Let's just walk in. She hung
01:00out a lot. Oh yeah. And, and yeah, I can think of one time on a set, we were doing a big scene
01:04where everybody was there and it was myself and Molly Ringwald and Luke and we're sitting
01:09around with our phone and Molly's showing pictures of her twins or whatever, you know,
01:13and then Luke's showing pictures of his kids and talking about his son's wrestling and I've
01:18got my boys and we look up and you know, there's Cammy and everybody's on their phone and
01:24just, and Luke goes, Oh my God, how did we get to be the adults? We're the adults now.
01:30How did that happen? Right. And you had a lot in common because you were both really
01:34in teen, hugely popular teenage sitcoms, him with 90210 and you with head of the class.
01:41And I remember I can, Oh gosh, I can remember where we would get our messages for head of
01:46that. They had a guy that would answer the phone. Like nobody had cell phone. God, I'm dating
01:49myself. I remember that. Nick, say something and help me here, Nick. Just say anything.
01:56But you know, and somebody would answer the phone, right? Cause you couldn't just text
01:59and get messages and you know, Marty, I'll never forget, you know, you've got a message.
02:03But I remember when 90210 started and one of our things for head of the class is, you know,
02:08we were still adults. We wanted to like kiss and do stuff. We wanted like stuff, you know?
02:13And they were like, absolutely not. No, no, no. Everything was innuendo. Well, here comes
02:1790210. However many couple of years later and they're doing, they're getting drunk. They're
02:23sleeping together. They're doing all this stuff. And we were like, so just what a few years
02:28makes, you know, in the world. It was, it was amazing. But Luke talks about, talked about
02:33that time with such a reverence and gratitude and, and it was nice. I'm, I'm honored to have
02:41gotten to spend some time with him. So sorry for the loss. It's a great loss.
02:45Big hole. How, how did the cast react? Like, were you all instantly in touch with each other?
02:50Well, well I, you know, my last memory or last time with Luke, I was actually, I booked,
02:58I was doing Riverdale and The Fix, a show called The Fix. And, and I was flying back and forth and
03:02then I got Ambitions and we were starting Ambitions and I had to get on the red eye from Vancouver to fly
03:09to Atlanta where we shoot. And they had to shoot me out cause I had to make the flight. And he was
03:13like, okay, okay, everybody on this side, you know, just in terms of blocking, let's shoot Robin's
03:17closeups. She's got to get flight. You know, it was like, you got the light going, you know, and,
03:22and you say goodbye to somebody and you never know what's going to happen. So when I, when I got the
03:30call that, that, um, something had happened and he hadn't been doing well, you, you also have a feeling
03:34like, Oh, something not so great happened, but it'll be okay. Right. You know, we all thought
03:40that at first. Yeah. He'll get better. Yeah. Um, so when I got the call, uh, that, um, he wasn't
03:46okay, it was quite difficult and everybody, you know, you just get on the phone and start texting
03:50and Ashley was joking, who plays my daughter was in tears and Machen, not just everybody kind
03:58of band together. Yeah. Right. Yeah. I'm sure that you're all devastated. Yeah. Listen, we were
04:03devastated because he was an icon. Yeah.
