00:00Well, obviously, like I said, we have some questions from our YouTube fans and also just I'm a Fresh Prince fan.
00:07So obviously we love you from the show.
00:10One of our users actually wanted to know, and this is such a great question, what was your biggest challenge when filming Fresh Prince?
00:20You know, interestingly, the biggest challenge wasn't me.
00:24The biggest challenge was Will.
00:25So Will had a time where he, you know, he got married.
00:30I introduced him to his wife, his ex-wife now, and he got a divorce and it really broke him.
00:40Right. And when you're acting, you are literally looking into the soul of another actor.
00:46Right. When you're in those scenes, you look into a person.
00:50You just don't look at a person.
00:51And for the time before, you know, he was Will.
00:56He was, you know, present.
00:57And then all of a sudden he was gone.
01:00And so I was looking into someone who was vacant in, you know, in his in his shell.
01:07And as a really good friend, as someone you care about, you know, it breaks your heart to see someone completely disappear from being the guy with the most spirit to someone who had almost none.
01:23And one of the greatest moments was the day he came back.
01:27Right. And it was like it's a it's a moment that we all remembered on the show as the cast.
01:31And we went, you're back.
01:34And he came out of it and he was he was happy again.
01:38It was all I don't know if it was done, but he he had gotten past the hurt.
01:43He had gotten past, you know, the pain of it and became present again.
01:47And it was a wonderful moment for all of us.
01:49Amazing. Yeah.
01:50And another question was, what was one of your favorite things to shoot for the show?
01:57The the most fun I had was we did a scene where we completely broke the fourth wall.
02:04And we like I know people some people remember this.
02:09I like get on the ground and and in the episode, we was at a cabin and will we he didn't come.
02:18He he we thought he had he had murdered his girlfriend.
02:23Right. And and he had her like in the cabin and I had set it all up as a big joke.
02:29And he comes back and I'm like, where's Lisa?
02:32And he's like, I'm sorry, but she didn't make it.
02:34And, you know, after I got out, I did this and we were like, I was like, ah, and I jumped down on the ground and I'm literally pulling myself, you know, on all fours on the ground.
02:43And then I run through one of the sets and then I'm running through the audience and I come out like the elevator and of the of the school area.
02:52And then I run into the opposite and he hugs me and and we're all set.
02:55And it was just like a funny thing that we did.
02:58We did it during the taping, thinking it would just be a funny little bit that we would have fun doing.
03:03And they were like, no, let's air it.
03:05And we were like, huh?
03:06Well, but we're breaking.
03:09Oh, shucks.
03:10Go ahead.
03:11Yeah.
03:11Like it was it was great.
03:13So that was probably the one the one moment that I remember because I really don't remember a lot about the show.
03:19But that's the one.
03:20It was a long time.
03:21Well, it's just like the thing for me, which is very different for the audience, is I didn't watch the show.
03:28So like I might have seen five episodes on TV, whereas so for me, it was like once I filmed it, I was done with it.
03:36Right.
03:37So I can't I can't make it better.
03:40I can't change it.
03:41So there's no reason to watch it.
03:44Right.
03:44And I was living life.
03:46Right.
03:46It's it's kind of like social media where everyone is like still in it.
03:50Right.
03:51And it's like, no, I did it.
03:52I don't need to record it to remember it.
03:54I did it.
03:55Maybe I should have recorded it and watched it because now I don't remember.
03:58But did you ever watch your Dancing with the Stars performances?
04:02I did watch those and I watched those because I needed to understand how to make it the next week.
04:07If this if it wasn't a competition, I never would have watched it.
04:10But it was watching it for information.
04:13How did that play on TV?
04:15How did that what what do I need to do to be better the next week?
04:19So it was about the competition in terms of watching it, not watching it to enjoy it.
04:23Mm hmm.
04:24That's so interesting.
04:25And I love, you know, we're in a in a time of reboots.
04:29I'm sure people ask you all the time.
04:31Have you and Will discussed anything?
04:33You know, right now there's just like I've I've continued to say and I will say this probably forever is there's just no real reboot of that show without James Avery.
04:44Um, Uncle Phil was the the even though it's the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Will's the star.
04:50The core of the show was Uncle Phil and the concept behind the show is about, you know, Will moving to, you know, Bel Air to change his life.
05:01Well, we ended it and his life was changed.
05:04Like what?
05:05Where does it go?
05:06We stopped doing it because we felt like the show couldn't be better when we were doing it.
05:12And we were like, I think we've told the stories we need to tell.
05:15I think it's time to end this.
05:16Um, so it's kind of hard to go, well, let's make another one of this.
05:22Yeah.
05:22There just isn't another Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
05:25If someone wants to remake it and recast and put new people in it, that's their everybody has their right to do whatever they feel.
05:30But you can't remake the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
05:33Yeah.
05:34Like it just that doesn't work to me.
05:36Um, so why?
05:38Right.
05:39Like the past is the past.
05:40Let it be.
05:40Let it live.
05:41You know, not a reboot, you know, whether there's other concepts and other things that could work.
