Transcript
00:00Following Bill Cosby's sentencing on Tuesday, in which the disgraced comedian was
00:03sentenced to three to ten years in state prison for drugging and sexually
00:06assaulting Andrea Constan, some of his other accusers spoke out about what the
00:10verdict meant to them.
00:11Syndra Ladd, a former entertainment executive who accused Cosby of raping her
00:15while she was passed out at her friend's house when she was 21, said she was
00:19grateful to hear the verdict.
00:21I always knew Bill Cosby was a violent sexual predator and now it's been
00:25officially confirmed by the court, Ladd said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
00:28Former model Janice Dickinson, who was present in the courthouse to witness Cosby
00:32sentencing on Tuesday, had accused Cosby of raping her in 1982 after giving her a
00:37pill for menstrual cramps, which instead rendered her motionless.
00:40Dickinson's attorney Lisa Bloom released a statement from her client which read,
00:44At a press conference organized by the Pennsylvania Office of Victim Advocate, accuser
00:57Lily Bernard said that she had found solace in the wake of Cosby's sentencing, while
01:01fellow accuser Lisa Lott-Lublin said she was free.
01:03I've moved on and I forgive him, Lott-Lublin said.
01:06He will never control my life.
01:07I have the strength to give him permission to ask me for my forgiveness for him.
01:11Accuser Cheelan Lasher added that she had waited 32 years for the day's verdict.
01:15I hope my nightmare will go away. He did not care how old I was, young and innocent,
01:19only 17 years old. Why should he receive mercy? Just because he's 81, she said.
01:24Meanwhile, the woman who has reported the earliest assault from Cosby, Sonny Wells, refused
01:28to forgive her alleged abuser in her statement.
01:30I hope that when you die, you go to the hell of your making, because this is precisely where
01:35you deserve to go for your sins and horrendous crimes against me and so many trusting
01:39lovely women, she said.
01:40Victoria Valentino, another accuser, concluded the press conference by commenting on the
01:44importance of the trial as a whole.
01:46The bottom line is this whole thing is so much bigger than Cosby, she said.
01:50This is about a woman's worth. This is about rape culture in our society.
01:53This is about the fact that we as women are not equal under the Constitution in 2018.
01:58In a statement submitted to the court, Consen said that almost 15 years after her assault,
02:03she is a middle-aged woman who's been stuck in a holding pattern where she was unable to
02:07heal fully or move forward.
02:08Referring to Cosby, she wrote,
02:10And Janice Baker Kinney, who accused Cosby of rape and testified during the trial, released
02:21a statement on Twitter thanking Cosby for rallying a group of wounded women to come together.
02:26You used your celebrity to victimize dozens upon dozens of women, including me, and your sense
02:30of entitlement and lack of remorse is astonishing, she wrote. Your arrogance sparked a movement
02:35that has grown to thousands of women, taking back their self-esteem and proudly standing up
02:40for what is morally right. So, thank you, Mr. Cosby.
