00:00Hollywood is being rebuilt by artists not afraid to disrupt the status quo, telling
00:07fresh stories and bringing to life characters who until now have been confined to the margins.
00:12The Hollywood Reporter's new video conversation series, Emerging Hollywood, features trailblazing
00:17voices in entertainment sharing their views on topics including inclusion, racial politics,
00:23gender and body positivity. The first episode of the brand new series, hosted by TV and
00:28American radio personality Charlemagne the God, features The Daily Show's Trevor Noah.
00:32Each episode of Emerging Hollywood will consist of three standalone chapters with the following themes.
00:37Chapter 1, Where I Came From.
00:39What's interesting about South African politics is that in many ways it has echoes of American politics,
00:45specifically with regards to our histories.
00:48Chapter 2, What I'm About.
00:50I question everything now. I question everything and I read everything, everything everywhere.
00:56So I will read five different newspapers. I'll try and get five different versions of the story.
01:02And Chapter 3, Where I'm Going, all detailing how the guest's life experience shaped his or her views,
01:08current activism and vision for what's next.
01:11Hollywood as a whole, from the boardrooms through to the directors and the filmmakers and the writers,
01:17etc., they also have to realize that there is an opportunity to grow.
