00:00Your bloodline of competing for the first time?
00:03For C-Games, yes.
00:05For C-Games, how does it feel?
00:06For individual and team, I'm very happy.
00:09Juliana's been very busy training now.
00:13She's been in Korea for three months,
00:16and now she's in Canada for a competition.
00:19But she's came back to train with the national team again.
00:22As a dad, how do you approach this?
00:24Tough love or supportive?
00:26Because in interviews, she's always saying that it's very competitive for her whenever she...
00:31Yeah, because I was also a national fencer, so up to now, I still fence.
00:36So every once in a while, I fence with her and I check on her level,
00:40if she's improving or doing well.
00:42And I'm very happy that she's getting so much better.
00:45In her collegiate days, she's one of the toughest competitors when I've interviewed.
00:50How does it feel that she's being leveled per game and not being contented?
00:54I'm so proud because there are so many things that she's achieved that I have not.
00:59For example, I never achieved being a UAP champion.
01:05I'm so happy about that and she's back to back.
01:09And now I'm anticipating that she'll be performing well in these coming C-Games.
01:15Yeah, as a dad, what's your expectation? A gold?
01:19I always pray and wish that she'll get a gold.
01:22Yeah.
01:23Para pag-uwi namin pareho kami may gold because I'm also shooting and playing.
01:27Yeah.
01:28Hopefully it happens.
01:29Yeah.
01:30Starting off, we're from Philippines.
01:31How excited are you with two days out and something?
01:34Guys, we're so close to taking C-Games.
01:36It's one of my favorite competitions.
01:38Philippines rallies around all the athletes heading into this competition
01:42and I just could not be more excited.
01:44You know, Aaliyah is graceful.
01:46What kind of Aaliyah will we see in the C-Games?
01:49I think we'll see a bit of grace but also a bit of power too.
01:54I feel like this competition is something that I want to give my all.
01:58In every competition, of course.
01:59With this one specifically, I've had my eye on for quite a bit of time now.
02:03And so, I think grace, of course, but also power.
02:06A bit of sass never leaves.
02:07So, that's you.
02:09There's more expectation on your side since you stood up for the Olympics
02:13and now for the C-Games.
02:15Other athletes are spouting you.
02:17How do you handle this type of pressure?
02:19Yeah, I think that pressure is a privilege to me.
02:23I'm honored to be able to represent the Philippines in any capacity.
02:26Of course, you know, I've been to some very high-level competitions
02:29but I think that really just fuels the fire in me
02:31knowing that the level that I can be
02:33and it's really just something that inspires me to keep going ahead.
02:36This is me, I'm Aaliyah, and I'm ready for C-Games.
02:41Hey guys, it's Aaliyah Finnegan and I'm ready for C-Games.
02:47Thanks, guys.
02:52I'm champions.
03:10You
