00:00After returning from Europe, Captain America asked Tony Stark to take a walk.

00:04He had something important to show him, but it was a trap.

00:07An ambush led by Apocalypse with Dracula and Mystique, who had been posing as Steve Rogers all along.

00:13Well done, Mystique, said Apocalypse as he opened a portal.

00:17Together, they dragged Tony Stark through it, vanishing into the shadows.

00:21Hours later, somewhere deep in Europe, Tony awoke, dizzy from the blow he'd taken.

00:26Wake up, Stark, murmured Apocalypse, towering over him like a god.

00:30Your mind is beyond human.

00:32I once believed mutants were the only species worth preserving, but now I see I was thinking too narrowly.

00:37Tony groaned, his sarcasm still intact.

00:40Good for you. Always nice to know that despotic, genocidal maniacs are still capable of personal growth.

00:46Apocalypse ignored the insult.

00:48You will work for me.

00:50Sorry, Tony replied dryly.

00:52I've always had a strict rule about not working for guys who use slaves to build their statues.

00:57Apocalypse smiled faintly.

01:00And yet, Iron Man, was your shining armor not a tribute to yourself?

01:05Were the metals not mined by slaves in other lands?

01:08As they walked through the ruins of an old European city, Tony saw advanced machinery humming beneath the stone.

01:15Apocalypse gestured toward it all.

01:16You and I understand evolution, Stark.

01:19It consumes the weak to empower the worthy.

01:22There can be no progress while this world remains stagnant.

01:25When they entered the facility, Tony's confidence faltered.

01:28The lab was fully powered, running with impossible energy.

01:31Apocalypse smiled.

01:32It's time for humanity to evolve again.

01:35In one of the upper chambers, Tony froze.

01:38There, standing beside an array of strange devices, were familiar faces.

01:43Riri, Reed, we thought you were dead.

01:45We gave up searching.

01:46Sue thought.

01:47Reed didn't even turn.

01:49Everything I can to help.

01:51And Saba Noor.

01:52Tony's expression darkened.

01:53Are you being threatened?

01:54No, Reed said coldly.

01:56We're being given a chance.

01:57Tony turned back to Apocalypse.

01:59The power running through this place.

02:01How are you doing this?

02:02Apocalypse arched an eyebrow.

02:04Tell me, Stark.

02:05How would you do it?

02:06Tony scanned the massive structure.

02:08It's a Faraday cage, immune to the constant EMP that covers the planet.

02:13He stepped closer, analyzing the cables and plating.

02:16Every cage I've ever tried to build failed.

02:19I used adamantium, vibranium.

02:21Nothing could withstand the electromagnetic pulse.

02:24His voice slowed as he pieced it together.

02:26You'd need something magnetic.

02:28Something equally strong.

02:29Apocalypse's smile widened.

02:31Something?

02:32No, no, no.

02:34Someone.

02:34Tony's face fell as he followed the cables upward.

02:37And there, suspended above the core of a massive generator, was Eric Lengeherr, Magneto,

02:43used as the living power source of Apocalypse's empire.

02:46He turned toward the doorway.

02:48Excellent timing.

02:49Killgrave.

02:50Tony spun in disbelief.

02:51Killgrave.

02:52The purple man stepped forward, his eyes glowing.

02:55Apocalypse looked down at Stark.

02:56Take his mind.

02:57Killgrave grinned and reached out.

02:59Tony's will dissolved instantly.

03:01His expression went blank.

03:03His genius now enslaved.

03:04As Apocalypse walked away, he whispered to himself,

03:08I touched the mind of a being greater than any god.

03:11Then the earth stopped, and that being slept.

03:13I will awaken it.

03:15And you, Tony Stark, will help me resurrect the Unmaker.

03:19Back in the sanctuary, life continued peacefully, at least on the surface.

03:23Johnny Storm sat by a small fire, trying to impress a group of kids by boiling a kettle

03:27with his flames.

03:29I once burned so hard I melted through Galactus.

03:31But now, he paused, realizing no one cared.

03:35Daniela Cage and little May Parker just stared.

03:39What's Galactus?

03:40They asked in unison.

03:41Peter chuckled.

03:42It's a tea party for kids and their toys, Johnny.

03:45Planet-eating cosmic threats aren't invited.

03:47May smiled sweetly.

03:49I think it's awesome you can boil water so fast, Uncle Johnny.

03:52Thank you, May.

03:53Johnny said proudly, puffing his chest.

03:55But the warm laughter faded when Jessica Jones appeared, her face pale.

03:59Peter and Luke Cage stood immediately.

04:02What happened?

04:03Peter asked.

04:04In Tony's lab, Blade's scout team searched through the wreckage.

04:07Pepper Pot stood near the entrance, visibly shaken.

04:10Tony didn't come home last night, she said.

04:13Steve Rogers showed up.

04:14They went for a walk, and they never came back.

04:16Honey Badger crouched low, sniffing the ground.

04:19Captain America wasn't here, she said.

04:22Cap smells like a sturdy oak table and duty.

04:24She paused, frowning.

04:26Someone else was here.

04:27X-23 lifted her head.

04:29Yes, I know that scent.

04:31Her eyes narrowed.

04:32Mystique.

04:33In an instant, the three bolted toward the outskirts of the forest, following Tony's trail.

04:38We dealt with a night horde attack on the other side of the city last night,

04:41X-23 said as they ran.

04:43Could have been a diversion.

04:44They stopped near a clearing.

04:46Tony fell here, or was knocked down, said X-23, kneeling beside blood on the dirt.

04:51He bled a little, but not too much.

04:53Mystique wasn't alone.

04:54Blade examined the terrain, his tone grim.

04:57No, Stark put up a fight.

04:59A lot of vampires died here.

05:00X-23 turned toward Pepper, her voice low.

05:03I'm sorry.

05:04I know who else was with her.

05:05I know who took him.

05:06Back in Wakanda, the mood inside the council chamber was tense.

05:10Dr. Doom paced across the room.

05:12If Apocalypse has taken Stark, we must retrieve him immediately.

05:16Johnny Storm raised an eyebrow.

05:17I'm surprised to hear you care, Doom.

05:20Moon Girl cut in.

05:21He doesn't, Johnny.

05:22He just sees the threat.

05:23Stark's the greatest weapons maker who's ever lived.

05:26Pepper's glare froze her.

05:28He's more than that, Lunella.

05:29But Doom didn't flinch.

05:31Don't delude yourself.

05:32His mind is built for destruction.

05:34He turned to Black Panther.

05:35Voice sharp.

05:36T'Challa, this paradise you're building.

05:39We'll burn to ash if Stark remains in Apocalypse's hands.

05:42He's a ticking time bomb.

05:44Pepper stepped forward.

05:45Then I'll go.

05:45I'll bring him back.

05:46Spider-Man and Johnny both nodded.

05:48We're going with you.

05:49Valeria Richard's expression darkened.

05:51Pepper, we don't even know if he's alive.

05:53Jean Grey added.

05:54And even if he is, we don't know where he's being held.

05:57We've spent years avoiding conflict with Apocalypse and his forces.

06:01We can't rush into war.

06:02Black Panther pauses for a second, then adds.

06:05Well, we do have someone who can rush into this.

06:08And in that moment, Quicksilver appears at full speed,

06:11racing across Europe to investigate Tony's disappearance.
