'Lizzie McGuire' creator Terri Minsky is stepping away from the show's revival at Disney+.

00:10Bad news, Lizzie McGuire fans. Sadly, the upcoming Disney Plus reboot of the
00:14beloved Disney Channel show starring Hilary Duff is now being put on hold.
00:18The unexpected hiatus comes after news that Lizzie McGuire creator Terry Minsky is
00:23stepping down as showrunner for the streaming platform series, which follows a
00:27now-grown-up Lizzie as she navigates adulthood with her animated 13-year-old ego by her side.
00:32Watch out world, Ms. Lizzie McGuire is ready to make your acquaintance.
00:36A Disney spokesperson released a statement further explaining the decision saying,
00:40"...fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series.
00:45After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative
00:49direction and are putting a new lens on the show."
00:52A new showrunner has yet to be named following Minsky's departure.
00:55Now, the original Lizzie McGuire ran from 2001 to 2004 on Disney Channel, starring Duff as just
01:01a young middle schooler. The show was a hit for Disney, which then spawned into soundtracks,
01:06books, other merchandise and the 2003 feature film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which made
01:11$55 million at the worldwide box office.
01:14The revival will feature several other cast members reprising their roles, including Adam
01:19Hamburg as Gordo, and Halle Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas as Lizzie's fam, Joe,
01:24Sam and Matt McGuire.
01:26No word yet on a release date or when production is set to resume.
