00:00Oh my gosh, you look so incredible. Thank you, so do you. Thank you, thank you.
00:04Oh, you know, we have to. It's a breakfast gala. Yes, I'm wearing Vita Hoft, even though it's a
00:09breakfast gala. I came with gloves, honey. You have to, you have to. This is one thing. We're
00:13going to show up and we're going to show out. That's right, especially if you get us up this
00:16early. 100%. Listen, we're in a room with such incredible women, yourself included. What is it
00:22like to be a part of this sisterhood right now? Oh, it's great, especially because it's honest
00:27and true. I'm seeing women that I love, like Kerry Washington, who just got her star,
00:32and Natasha Rothwell, who has her show on Hulu. It's a day to really celebrate women. And then
00:37also women that I haven't met yet, like Selena Gomez and Nicole Kidman. I'm really inspired
00:42by them being moguls and doing their thing. So it's a day of inspiration and celebration.
00:48Speaking of sisterhood and women empowerment, your friend and your Broadway co-star, Cynthia
00:54Eribo has been having the year of her life with Wicked right now. Have you been able to see it?
00:59And how proud are you of her seeing her on screen in that role? Of course I went to go see Wicked!
01:04Of course! Like, I was there actually with one of our other co-stars from Color Purple on Broadway,
01:10and we just bawled our eyes out. And I called her immediately, and we FaceTimed, and I just was
01:14screaming over the phone, just so excited for her that she's having this moment, because that girl
01:18works hard. And even Ariana, too. Like, Ariana's killing it. She did an amazing job. And John
01:24Chu. Everybody, everybody.
01:26Such an incredible movie. What is another female-led performance that's come out in this past year
01:32that you really need everyone to see?
01:34Oh, man. That's a good question. Gosh, I wish I could remember this movie. I just saw two things.
01:42Oh, what is the name? Um, what's, Rhett? Oh, my gosh. I'm blanking.
01:53No, it's totally, I mean, Cynthia, Cynthia does.
01:55I'm so mad about this. Uh, Pugh. Florence Pugh.
02:00We Live in Time?
02:02We Live in Time. I just watched her performance. We Live in Time. And Sister Girl did a phenomenal job.
02:08I was very proud of her, too, because I don't think she's had kids at all. But she had a pregnancy
02:13scene where she delivered a baby, and I was like, go ahead, girl. Like, that look real. You acting?
02:19Uh, because that's actually really hard to do. But she, they, they were wonderful, and she was
02:22wonderful. Um, so that's a performance I definitely think is worth watching.
02:27And finally, we're, of course, also celebrating how far we've come as women in entertainment.
02:31What's one thing that you would tell your younger self about being a woman in entertainment?
02:35Mm. Well, for me, it's been amazing being a woman in entertainment because I, for the
02:41first time, have seen myself in this. You know, there's a lot of women I've looked up
02:46to, but, like, they didn't quite align. They maybe have been too older. Maybe they didn't
02:51have, the skin wasn't as dark, or they weren't as curvy. So, like, to be the person that I
02:56wanted to see growing up is so crucial. And now, knowing that I'm not the only one. There
03:00are so many women that look like me in Hollywood that are thriving is really exciting. But,
03:05um, y'all do need to pay us more. Thank you.
