00:00My first time coming to this event, I was brought with Orange is the New Black Girls and I actually got to meet Oprah.
00:08That was one of the first times I came in contact with her.
00:10So it's very full circle to now be going through this, you know, Oscar run and be nominated for an Oscar and get to receive this Essence Award today.
00:21It's so full circle, but it's crazy.
00:24I'll just say one more thing. I remember when the Orange is the New Black Girls actually, we were honored and I had asked, I was like, can I please give a speech?
00:33And they gave me the mic to get a speech. And I tell you, I didn't have much to say at that time.
00:37All I had in my heart was I'm here. And now with time, experience, trials, tribulations and triumphs, I have a story to share.
