Agra man says he’s trapped in Cameroon

An Agra man claims he, his wife, and their toddler are stranded in Cameroon after his passport was taken.

00:00That's Dhira Jain from Agra, a tour and travel employee who ended up stranding in Douala, Cameroon.

00:15With him were his wife and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and they said they couldn't leave.

00:23He said his passport had been taken away by people linked to his employer.

00:27With no income and no travel documents, the family claimed they were struggling to afford basic necessities, even milk, for their daughter.

00:34According to Dhira Jain, everything had begun in September 2024, when he was robbed of 19 million CFA francs.

00:41A police case was filed, and the investigation remained open.

00:44But Dhira Jain said that instead of being treated as the victim, he was being blamed and framed for the loss,

00:49especially after the money could not be recovered through insurance.

00:52He alleged that every attempt to explain his situation or request repatriation was met with threats and pressure.

00:58He also named three Indian-origin men, accusing them of harassment and intimidation.

01:08Back home in Agra, officials had been trying to locate the family's home in Diyalba,

01:12but the exact house had not been found yet.

01:14Because of that, they had not been able to speak to Dhira Jain's relatives.
