00:00Congratulations to the class of COVID-19. Wow, what incredible energy and excitement I'm feeling right now.
00:09Saturday Night Live aired its season finale of SNL at Home, which brought on its usual laughs,
00:14thanks mostly to awkward Zoom calls, surprise appearances, and a nostalgic look back at a pre-pandemic New York.
00:21The finale kicked off with a Zoom graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 as its cold open,
00:25featuring Alec Baldwin making a surprise return as Donald Trump.
00:29I'm so honored to be your valedictator, but today is not about me, it's about you.
00:35Although I should spend a little time on me first.
00:38Meanwhile, Kristen Wiig served as host for the socially distant finale,
00:41teasing it as the Mother's Day episode before singing a tune dedicated to her own mother.
00:46Now.
00:48Close your eyes, now hush little baby don't wait till the morning.
00:56Some standout sketches for the finale included a Zoom catch-up featuring Martin Short and Heidi Gardner
01:01as travelers who just returned from Italy.
01:04Sorry, so you guys voluntarily traveled to the epicenter of the pandemic to quarantine?
01:10Si.
01:10To quarantine.
01:11And a sketch mocking virtual church services featuring Kenan Thompson as a pastor in a Baptist church
01:18who couldn't get his congregation to mute themselves on Zoom.
01:21Why are y'all still not on mute?
01:24And who's got the TV on?
01:26One sketch called Let Kids Drink, which served as a mock PSA,
01:29introducing a special quarantine rule that should let kids drink alcohol,
01:33prompted a minor controversy on social media on Saturday night,
01:36with some saying the parody went too far.
01:45Elsewhere, Michael Shea and Colin Jost did their final installment of At Home Weekend update
01:49for the finale, where Tina Fey contributed, saying that she was trying to focus on the positive.
01:54For example, I'm getting to spend so much more time with my passwords.
01:57All my passwords are a little bit different and beautiful in their own way,
02:01and I see that now.
02:03And also had a fun cooking hack for bakers in quarantine.
02:06Did you know that if you're baking cookies and you don't have any flour,
02:09you can just go to bed?
02:11Yeah, you can all just shut your mouths and go to bed.
02:14Meanwhile, Cecily Strong appeared as Jeanine Pirro commenting on COVID-19
02:18while drinking a carton of wine.
02:19I'm just having a little of this boxed wine.
02:23The last sketch of the finale featured most of the cast members experiencing typical New York City
02:29things in a pre-pandemic world, only to realize it was all a dream.
02:34Cecily Strong wakes up at the end with a slice of pizza in hand.
02:38Oh no, you don't want this.
02:40This is dream pizza.
02:43Okay.
02:44And on the music front, the surprise musical guests of the night were voiced to men
02:48who performed a Mother's Day tribute featuring photos of the cast members with their mothers
02:52playing over the performance.
