00:00And what do you want to yell at? Don't yell at the Klan, Colin. Yell it into the cake.
00:07Former Saturday Night Live cast members Tina Fey, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon all made a return
00:12to the news desk on the second episode of the show's summer edition of Weekend Update Thursday.
00:17Fey, who was a University of Virginia graduate, wore a UVA sweatshirt and told host Colin Jost
00:23and Michael Che that the events in Charlottesville broke her heart. She also slammed President Trump,
00:28or Donny John as she calls him, for saying that he condemns violence on many sides.
00:34I'm feeling sick because I've seen Raiders of the Lost Ark and I wasn't confused by it.
00:38Nazis are always bad. I don't care what you say, she said. Adding that she doesn't want any more
00:44good people to get hurt, she urged those frustrated by the events to find a local business,
00:48maybe a Jewish-run bakery or an African-American-run bakery, order a cake decorated with the American
00:55flag and eat it. And that's exactly what Fey did, attempting to make sheet caking and screaming
01:00your frustrations into a cake a grassroots movement. And also, who drove the car into the
01:06crowd? Hillary's emails? Fallon and Myers also returned to the news desk, but this time as George
01:11Washington and Thomas Jefferson, respectively. Che pressed Fallon, as Washington, about owning slaves,
01:17at which point Fallon pointed the finger at Thomas Jefferson, prompting Myers to appear as the former
01:22president. You're gonna throw me under the carriage like that? You're gonna make me the slave guy? Really?
01:30Ultimately, Jefferson confessed that he did own slaves, saying,
01:33It's true, Che. It's true. You gotta remember, it was a different time, man. It was the 70s,
01:38man. It was the 1770s. Crazy times. Everyone in capri pants smoking hemp. The two closed the segment
01:45with a joint statement. In the end, we don't need statues to commemorate us. Our legacy is the country
01:51that we risked our lives to create. And that is why this great nation has given us an honor greater
01:57than any statue. A three-day weekend in February, during which all Americans get 50 percent off on
02:02mattresses. And I think there's a Toyota-a-thon that weekend, too. To see more of Tina Fey, Seth
02:08Myers and Jimmy Fallon's return to weekend update, head to THR.com and tell us what you thought of the
02:14segments in the comments section. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Lyndsey Rodrigues.
