The head of the Office for Budget Responsibility has apologised for a “mistake within the OBR” which led to the early publication of its Budget forecast at a presentation by the watchdog on its latest report.

00:18start with an apology. A link to our economic and fiscal outlook document went live on our website
00:23too early this morning and was subsequently removed. We apologise to the Chancellor and
00:26Members of Parliament for this technical error and have initiated an investigation into how this
00:30happened. It will be reporting to our oversight board the Treasury and the Commons Treasury Committee
00:35on how this happened and how to make sure it doesn't happen again.
