00:04Netflix dramedy GLOW has now been canceled after the streamer reversed its season 4 renewal.

00:09Netflix released a statement regarding their decision saying in part,

00:12We've made the difficult decision not to do a fourth season of GLOW due to COVID,

00:16which makes shooting this physically intimate show with its large ensemble cast especially challenging.

00:22GLOW had started production on season 4, which was said to have been its final one in February.

00:26It completed one episode and started a second before the coronavirus pandemic led to production

00:31shutdowns for IT and hundreds of other series and films in mid-March.

00:35Sources cite the large ensemble cast of GLOW and the close contact and physical exertion required

00:41of its wrestling scenes as making the show tougher to produce safely during the pandemic.

00:45The additional cost related to COVID guidelines and the fact that the series wouldn't have aired

00:49before 2022 led to Netflix's decision. The creators of the show also spoke out in response to the

00:55cancellation news saying,

00:56There's a lot of shitty things happening in the world that are much bigger than this right now,

01:00but it still sucks that we don't get to see these 15 women in a frame together again.

01:05We'll miss our cast of weirdo clowns and our heroic crew. It was the best job. Register to vote and

01:11please vote. GLOW is one of the several series to have renewals taken back due to COVID.
