A man has admitted deliberately driving into crowds celebrating Liverpool FC’s Premier League win, injuring 134 people, including children, in an attack that shocked the city.

00:00Liverpool should have been filled with joy, but on that May Day, celebration turned to shock.
00:07Paul Doyle, aged 54, has now admitted deliberately driving into crowds during LFC's Premier League Victory Parade.
00:14The incident left 134 people injured, including children as young as six months old, victims ranging up to 77 years old.
00:23Detective Chief Inspector John Fitzgerald from Merseyside Police described the scenes as shocking,
00:28saying that in just seven minutes, Doyle's vehicle collided with more than 100 people, in some cases trapping them underneath and causing serious injuries.
00:39Doyle faced 31 charges linked to the attack.
00:43CPS Mersey Cheshire Chief Crown Prosecutor Sarah Hammond said his guilty pleas bring a measure of justice for those affected.
00:51Dashcam footage reportedly shows Doyle becoming increasingly agitated by the crowds on Dale Street and Water Street,
00:57and rather than waiting, he deliberately forced his way through.

01:07The recorder of Liverpool, Andrew Menary KC, told Doyle it was inevitable he would be facing a custodial sentence of some length following his change of pleas.
