00:00Barbie Ferreira is addressing her exit from Euphoria following its second season and the negative attention it gained.
00:06While appearing on the latest episode of Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,
00:10the NOPE actress opened up about her decision to leave the show,
00:13which swirled with rumors of on-set clashes with showrunner and writer Sam Levinson.
00:18Ferreira, who played Kat on HBO's hit high school drama,
00:21says the reports of the details surrounding her exit was really rough for me.
00:30I don't know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that.
00:33I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend.
00:36I don't want to play that, and I think they didn't want that either.
00:39The actress noted that the ensemble's size, Levinson's own writing interests, and her vision complicated things too much.
00:46I felt it was kind of a struggle for both parties.
00:49Sam, me, it was a struggle to find a continuation of her.
00:52The actress went on to say,
00:53I don't know, I just felt like maybe I overstayed my welcome a little bit.
00:57So for me, it actually felt good to be like,
00:59okay, I get to not worry about this, and we both don't get to worry about this.
01:03The star also addressed one allegation that involved her supposedly walking off the show's set.
01:09I actually did not walk off set.
01:11I sprained my ankle once, and I had to go get an x-ray.
01:13Maybe that's what they mean.
01:15The series has been renewed for a third season,
01:17with Emmy-winning star Zendaya telling THR of her hopes for the future of her character, Rue.
01:22I think it'll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school.
01:25I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey.
01:28How chaotic that might look.
