George R.R. Martin speaks with The Hollywood Reporter about the HBO drama's end, what he still has planned in his novels and an update on the Jane Goldman pilot.

00:08The final season of Game of Thrones premieres in less than one week.
00:11Ahead of the highly anticipated event, The Hollywood Reporter spoke to Thrones author George R.R. Martin
00:16at the season's New York City world premiere, where he dished on the current state of Thrones
00:20and revealed some inside info on the upcoming pilot he's working on with a cast led by Naomi Watts.
00:26As for this season of Thrones, Martin says, I don't think it should be the final season, but here we are.
00:41Speaking of sequels, little is known about the pilot plot except that it takes place thousands of years
00:46before the main Game of Thrones series. But Martin did give us a few more details, saying,
00:56It's definitely very different. You're looking at a whole different era of Westeros. No dragons, no Iron Throne, no King's Landing.
01:02It'll be interesting to see what the fans make of that. The final season of Thrones arrives on April 14th on HBO.
