00:22The host apologized during the Abbott Elementary creator and star's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday

00:28and apologized, calling it a dumb comedy bit.

00:31The last thing I would ever want to do is upset you because I think so much of you,

00:36and I think you know that, I hope you know that.

00:39Brunson graciously accepted the apology.

00:42I didn't see any of that. I saw you and I saw Will Arnett and my Emmy,

00:47and I was just like, oh my god, I'm having so much fun, but thank you, that's kind.

00:51But honestly, I had a good night.

00:53Earlier in the episode, she dropped by at the end of Kimmel's monologue, Emmy in Hand,

00:57to see if she could thank some people whom she didn't have the time to mention at Monday's ceremony,

01:03You know how when you win an Emmy, you only have 45 seconds to do an acceptance speech,

01:07which is not that much time?

01:08And then someone does, like, you get less time because someone does a dumb comedy bit

01:12that goes on a bit too long?

01:13You know, I have heard of that happening, and yeah.

01:24As for the Emmy's bit, many social media users and public figures disapproved of the moment.

01:30During ABC's TCA presentations on Wednesday, Abbott Elementary co-star Cheryl Lee Ralph

01:35said she found it disrespectful that Kimmel remained on the stage throughout the speech.
