00:00Well, congratulations on this film. I feel like everyone's been waiting for it.

00:03The anticipation was building. How exciting is it to be here tonight?

00:07Unbelievably exciting. I mean, we've worked so hard alongside so many talented people to make this happen.

00:13So we're excited to finally share it.

00:16And of course, this is an adaptation from stage to screen.

00:19So were there any big changes or updates that you had to make for the movie musical?

00:24Yeah, I mean, we just tried to make it its own thing.

00:26You know, like the movie is fantastic. The 2004 movie is fantastic.

00:31The Broadway show is fantastic as well.

00:33Like we wanted it to be its own experience.

00:37And so we just want, like we're excited for people to finally see it, you know?

00:42In the trailer, we didn't get to see any musical numbers.

00:46Do you know if there was a reason why that was kind of kept under wraps?

00:49It's not up to us, but it does leave a lot of room for surprise.

00:53So we're excited for people to finally see it in its totality.

00:57Yeah.

00:57Yeah.

00:59And I know that in the trailer, they also say this isn't your mother's mean girls.

01:03So how do you think that this movie is really going to connect to a new generation?

01:08I mean, being that it's 20 years later, social media didn't exist in 2004.

01:12And now kids have this whole new other dimension to their lives where girls can be mean.

01:18So it's a very different landscape that kids are dealing with now.

01:22I do not envy them.

01:24But we tried to make it as relatable to them as possible.

01:27And also with me.

01:28We use the same language.

01:29Like a lot of these sequences are meant to be as if they're shot on the phone, you know?

01:34So like kind of speak like the language that we're all speaking, you know?

01:39And finally, how was it working with these new group of girls and this cast?

01:43And was there a particular musical number or scene that you enjoyed shooting over the others?

01:48First of all, like this cast is unbelievable.

01:53Like it's incredible.

01:54We can't wait for the world to see them together.

01:56It was a, it was a, it's a dream cast.

01:59They were just, they were just complimenting you.

02:08I'll let you go back to complimenting you.

02:14Favorite musical number.

02:15Oh my gosh.

02:16There are so many.

02:18I mean, I like, like once we cracked Revenge Party, like once we like figured out what that

02:25was and how we were going to shoot it, then it was like, it was like, it was like a mountain.

02:31But like.

02:31Yeah, I feel like every day we shot a little bit of Revenge Party, but seeing it all together,

02:36it's, it's a lot of fun.

02:38Yeah.
