BBC Studios unveiled that its science unit would make a series with Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg on Monday.

00:00Greta Thunberg is headed for the small screen.
00:03It was revealed on Monday that the Swedish environmental activist is partnering with
00:07U.K. public broadcaster BBC's BBC Studios for a brand new series.
00:12The series, unveiled at the studio's annual showcase event in Liverpool, will follow
00:16recent Time Person of the Year, Thunberg's international crusade, which has taken her
00:20to the front line of climate change in some of the most extraordinary places on Earth.
00:24The series will find Thunberg exploring what actions could be taken to limit climate change
00:29and the damage it causes. The title and number of episodes weren't immediately announced
00:33and BBC Studios have also yet to unveil a network or streaming home for the show.
00:37The series will further chart the 17-year-old activist's own journey into adulthood,
00:41quote, as she continues to be confronted by the real-world consequences of inaction,
00:46and the show will also share some of Thunberg's more personal moments, such as when she writes
00:50the impactful speeches that are now broadcast and analyzed around the world,
00:54or as she lives her life as a teenager.
00:56Rob Liddell, BBC Studios' executive producer, spoke out about the announcement, saying,
01:01"'Climate change is probably the most important issue of our lives, so it feels timely to make
01:06an authoritative series that explores the facts and science behind this complex subject.
01:10To be able to do this with Greta is an extraordinary privilege, getting an inside view
01:14on what it's like being a global icon and one of the most famous faces on the planet.'
