The first titles for The Toronto Film Festival have been unveiled with Timothee Chalamet and Steve Carell starrer ‘Beautiful Boy’ and ‘This is Us’ creator Dan Fogelman’s ‘Life Itself’ among the most high-profile world premieres.

00:10most high-profile world premieres. Beautiful Boy is based on a book of the same name about a
00:16father struggling with his drug-addicted son, with Call Me By Your Name's Chalamet playing
00:21the son and Carell his father. Life Itself, written and directed by This Is Us creator
00:26Fogelman, features an all-star lineup with Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Annette Bening,
00:31Samuel L. Jackson and Antonio Banderas. Both films are Amazon Studio titles and set to hit
00:37theaters this fall. Also making its world premiere in Toronto is Steve McQueen's
00:42Widows, a crime drama starring Viola Davis and based on a U.K. TV series. The film is
00:48co-written by McQueen and screenwriter Gillian Flynn and stars Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth
00:53Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Jackie Weaver, Robert Duvall and Liam
00:59Neeson. Certain films are set to take on TIFF after debuting elsewhere, such as
01:04Damien Chazelle's First Man and Bradley Cooper's highly anticipated directorial
01:09debut, A Star Is Born, starring Lady Gaga, both of which have already been set to get
01:14their world premieres at the Venice Film Festival. Elsewhere, Claire Dennis' first English
01:19language feature High Life, which wasn't ready for Cannes, and is headed to Toronto for its
01:23debut, with Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche top-lining the out-of-this-world drama
01:28about a group of criminals sent on a mission into a black hole. Other films headed to
01:33Toronto this September includes Melanie Laurence Galveston, starring Ben Foster and
01:38Elle Fanning, that debuted at South by Southwest. Sarah Collingello's Sundance titled The
01:43Kindergarten Teacher, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. The can opener Everybody Knows, starring
01:48Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, and directed by Oscar Farhadi. The 20th Century Fox YA
01:54book adaptation The Hate U Give, starring Amandla Stenberg and Issa Rae, and directed by
02:00George Tillman Jr. The Julia Roberts star Ben Is Back, from director Peter Hedges. And
02:05Jason Reitman's Gary Hart biopic The Front Runner, starring Hugh Jackman as the disgraced
02:10presidential candidate, and Vera Farmiga and J.K. Simmons co-starring. The Toronto Film
02:16Festival will make additional lineup announcements in the coming weeks and is
