00:00How does it feel to be here tonight presenting, but also with so many different films?
00:04I feel so good being here.
00:06You know, I'm proud of every film that has been acknowledged and nominated.
00:11And to be able to, like, witness firsthand some of the work that went into each of these projects
00:16and to be a part of so many different projects just feels so special.
00:20One of those projects, of course, is Barbie.
00:22And 2023 was the year of the Barbie movie and a great year for women in entertainment.
00:27How do we bring that energy into 2024?
00:29Man, you've got to ask the people the powers that be.
00:32I'm like, we are out here doing the work.
00:34Greta is an absolute pleasant genius, and she was able to, like, fight for her vision on the film.
00:42But that's also because Margot believed in her to bring her on for this particular project.
00:47And so that's an example of women championing and believing in other women.
00:51And that had a huge reward.
00:53It took over the year.
00:54So I think, you know, in some ways it's up to us to support other people.
00:58Other women for big-name actresses to work and champion big-name female directors.
01:07But in other ways, the industry just has to wise up.
01:10When you're choosing projects, is that something you think about, about working with other powerful women?
01:15I think about working with other powerful women.
01:18I think about working with other up-and-coming black people.
01:20I'm always trying to see who I'm a fan of and who I feel like just deserves that shot.
01:27And sometimes it lends itself to the biggest reward.
01:33Of course, the Golden Globes celebrate the best of movies and TV.
01:36While you're here for some films, you also, of course, are no stranger to the TV world.
01:40What's a show from this past year that you especially loved?
01:43I loved beef.
01:45I loved beer.
01:47I love Jury Duty so much.
01:52There are so many shows.
01:53I know I'm leaving things out.
01:55But I've been watching a lot of TV this year.
01:59And TV is always killing it.
02:00I'm sorry.
02:01That's always going to be my medium of choice.
02:02No offense.
02:03I know this is blended.
02:04But TV, nobody does it like us.
02:06Speaking of Jury Duty, I talked to Ronald earlier.
02:08And I was way too excited about it.
02:11I'm like, where's he at?
02:13He's got to be having the best year ever.
02:15The best couple of years, you know.
02:17So I'm happy for him.
02:18I know he has like a deal now to produce.
02:21So welcome to Hollywood, Ronald.
02:22He's in it now.
02:23Yeah.
02:24He has a Hollywood face.
02:25I can't wait to see what else he does next.
02:27And now this is the party that kicks off awards season.
02:30Who from the Barbie crew do you think is going to party the hardest tonight?
02:33I would have said Simu because, but he like has a torn Achilles.
02:39So I don't think he's going to be able to party that hard.
02:43So I guess next on the list, I hope it's Greta.
02:46Greta had a great year.
02:48But, you know, she's a mom of two like young kids.
02:52So I don't know.
02:54It's going to be me.
02:55I volunteered myself.
02:56I'm going to party the hardest.
02:58I'll take the baton.
02:59I'm going to party the hardest.
