00:00Is he or isn't he? Benedict Cumberbatch addresses rumors that he's headed to the Star Wars franchise.
00:07Hi, I'm Brian Corsetti for ENTV and Deadline.com is all the details.
00:13Now, earlier this week the internet lit up with rumors of the Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch being cast in the J.J. Abrams Star Wars Episode 7.
00:23A rumor that wasn't too hard to believe considering Cumberbatch recently teamed up with Abrams on Star Trek Into Darkness.
00:30On Wednesday, a spokesperson crushed that dream by telling the New York Daily News, quote,
00:35There is no truth to the rumor Benedict has been cast in Star Wars.
00:39I think the rumors are circling because J.J. and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek.
00:46But is the door really closed for Cumberbatch to join the famous franchise?
00:50Well, hopeful fans might point out that the rep said the actor hasn't been cast, which may mean he's still in the running.
00:58Working against that theory is the fact that Cumberbatch has a pretty busy schedule ahead of him.
01:03According to Deadline.com, the actor just signed on to star in the James Gray directed Lost City of Z,
01:09a film which will be produced by Brad Pitt's company Plan B.
01:13And later this year, he will start filming Imitation Game out 2014.
01:17Not to mention, he'll be premiering three new movies at the Toronto Film Festival this month,
01:2212 Years a Slave, The Fifth Estate and August Osage County.
